I remembered I had left some industrial strength velcro on the sides of the supports under the battery pad. I was able to stick the velcro straps to this and they hold even when I lift the boat by them!!

U should definitely wrap the straps through whatever is epoxied down t hull in your case the wooden rails and then around your lipos in your case through the wooden tray and then around lipos there are many other good ways to secure lipos this one works well and is the simplest IMO if you have any other questions please feel free to ask and good luck

Just a quic story when I first started boating years ago I had a 5 cell hump style rx pack only Velcro'd down and in a mild crash that ripped loose and put a pretty decent size crack in the side of my hull. Now compare the rx pack to a lipo and imagine what the lipo would do to your boat. Plus you don't want your lipos n the bottom of the lake. I've beey there as well with everything strapped down as well as Velcro'd The force of a crash is very strong and things that you least expect to move do rip or break free

Ok I will work on something. Harder to make slots for the vecro straps to go through now.

Here you go Steve and Chris. Threaded a loop under the battery mount through the supports.
I actually had forgot to scratch the bottom of the battery pads when I epoxied the mounts and plexi together so when I pulled a little they came apart as it was too smooth. Glad I didn't go out with them like that. All sorted now.

Very cool man I was out at the lake the other day while it was snowing here the water conditions were surprisingly good. I go to the lake all year round as long as there is no ice I can never get myself to take the winter off. Let me know how she runs when you try her out for the fist time. If my lake was 10 minutes away I would be there everyday, rain and all, but my Lake is a 30min drive(with clear traffic) high up on the moor. I'm thinking of moving house just to have a closer lake

I am very lucky I have a surprisingly large lake 2 min from my house it is over 100 feet deep in some spots and has waves like an ocean at some points but most of the time it is pretty calm.

2 MINs!!! I would love that! All of the closer lakes have been taken over by nature preservers and fishing companies I have seen a plan drawn up for my Central Park in Plymouth. They are currently working on building a very large lake for water sports and RC boats. That would be 10 mins away. Expected finish project date : 2021 ......
I struggled to find the lake I currently run at. Thought I was going to have to give up RC boats at one time because of having nowhere to run.

So my other Hyperion battery arrived this morning all cells perfect, so in my excitement I decided I would venture to the Lake. There was no wind near my house but a different story at the lake. Very windy and some of the waves were huge. The lake is actually a Reservoir build on top of the Hills. Not a good place when its windy. Ran the boat shortly (20 secs) and had to bring it in. Nearly flipped twice but the power from the batts and motor combined is sweet.
Heres the video I took as I left a few mins later Its not of the boat, just the waves.

If you compare it to my other vids, the water level had risen considerably and it was probably the windiest and coldest weather its been there.
Forecast is ICE for a week and very cold temps.
No boating for me....

I love running my Titan 40 in conditions like that it is a blast. The Titan is one of the best rough water boats IMO you just better make sure you have a retrieval boat or a raft/kayak when in water like that. If you check out my videos on YouTube I think I have a vid of it running in some rough water.Thanks Chris Genovese

Since it dropped to minus 2c outside I decided to do some work on the boat.
Just added the name "THE EAGLE" to either side and I clear coated over the main eagle sticker and half way from the front. Looks good!

Well I did want to run this in a Formula 4 or Mono 2 race here in the UK but with the limitation of a 5000mah I can't finish the race plus all the competitors will be running stepped hulls. Technically there is not a class for this boat in the UK. Now all I want is top end speed! Big Motor, Big Prop.

How about a TPPower 4092 1600kv on 6s2p? Would the 180ESC be OK with this?
