2200kv is a little much...

5 cell will be maximum

maybe a x442 / m442 prop

if its a 32" + hull smaller than 42mm prop wont push it nicely..

maybe a 4 cell setup with 2 packs in paralell for high amp delivery will be best with a x645 / m645 prop...

if its 6s esc it would be better too use a leopard 4082 1600kv @ 6s with a x642/m645

from my experience lower kv and more volts will be running cooler than high kv few volts

Ok next run should be fine. The problem with the boat was me (if that makes sense) adjusted the stinger the wrong way so it lifted the transom out of the water at speeds greater than 32MPH wooo. Stinger is in a better position now. Hyperion battery coming next week. Will get some real good speeds but for now and for your entertainment here is the link to my video.
You will notice the quick start but as soon as the transom rises up -power loss and no rooster tail.

Thinking of getting the 1518 1800kv to run on 5s in this boat. It's such a light hull and I don't think the 1515 weighs enough. Maybe a 1520?? Need to try to get a good run on this motor first. I have just heatshrink around the flex and the stuffing tube. Since the stinger is in an upward position the water seems to be coming up the shaft a bit more and the silicon tubing wasn't good enough.

I would put in the 1521 ..After watching your video there is clearly something going on..Are you sure about your kv on your motor..Are you sure its not like 1500 and your running on 4s..Just seems like its not winding up not even half of what it should be..

I have been wondering about the KV myself. The motor size is definitely 1515. Did they make a lower kv on this motor?

I bet you have the 1500kv.. I would throw in 5s or 6s packs and hang on..Dont forget to check temps..

The link is to a Nue motor. I can't find any Castle 1515 1500kv motors although I know they are both on Castle's website. I haven't got a 5 or 6s pack to try. All I do know is that the motor got warm on a M645. Surely a 1500kv wouldn't.

Listen to this. I start slow and build up to full power.

A few alterations. Firstly battery stand was too high and I was struggling to get my packs in and out so I put it flat across the hull instead. Lot easier now. Battery stand could fit 2 5000mah batts on nicely.
Done the heat shrink trick on my flex shaft and stuffing tube, keep water out of the Hull. Hate the capillary effect
I really don't understand why I haven't got speeds in the 50s yet. Can stinger angle mean that much difference?

I agree with pyro, just removed mine as even though it was greased it started heating the flex soo much it started to melt!

Where is your CG? I'd bet its way too far forward with those cells way up front like that. That alone will make it very slow.

8.5" from the back. I only run single batteries. I was thinking about swapping around the position of the battery and motor but not sure yet.

Now I'm happier!!! Today I took 3 batteries up with me 1 Winmax 4s 5200 30-60c and 2x Nano-Techs 4s 4000mah 35-70c for 4s2p
Ran the Winmax first battery at front on pad with stinger angle high, it shot off, hitting 45MPH easily but needed more weight at the front as was lifting off then within 20 seconds the speed stopped. Took it out of the water and the stinger had dropped down. (Obviously hadn't done hex screws up tight enough) so I then decided to try more weight at the back in line with the motor at slightly less angle on the stinger and this is what I got. Nanos 4s2p

Noticed the front was lifting a bit on this run so I then dropped then stinger to just above parallel but my Hex key rounded off before I could tighten it properly. So I gave it 1 up and down and it was perfect. Straight lines, more speed,more control but I decided to leave it at that since the stinger was a bit loose.
I am still considering pushing the motor up and putting the batts right near the back. Seems the more weight at the back the better. The Hull is so incredibly light compared to my old Pursuit takes a bit more weight to keep the transom in the water. What you think guys?
btw didn't get a reading on speed as my Etrex GPS kept saying "can't see sky"" lol

seems to me you got your stinger where it should be..try moving your cg foreward..My cg is about 31% a little over 9 inches from the transom..That should get the nose down a bit..Of course Im pushing 60mph and yours may differ a bit but I would at least try it..I couldnt get mine trimmed out with the cg anything under 9 inches..

Think I have room to move the batts forward a bit. Need to shorten the wires on my esc too.

My set-up with the M445 prop has a max speed of 52MPH but the motor is only just warm 20c so I think a prop up is in order. M545 or 645. I think I have a carbon version of a X645 somewhere. Or 5s on the M445 would get me in the 60s but that is at 36630RPM What's the recommended RPM?
