lol yea that's just my little test pond that's less than a mile from my house. It was starting to rain so we didn't feel like driving 15 minutes to my big water spot for 8 minutes of run time lol (just sold off all my batteries).

Nice video Gimp!! The boat runs great!!! That little pond is perferct for testing and just messing around! I'm gonna be running 4s in mine too, if it runs close to that good i'll be happy!! I know we are running different motors, i have the 4074 1800KV version, i'm not sure how much difference that will make in top speed?

Shouldn't be too much difference, you'll get better run times too.

Good to know. I'm hoping for about 40mph on 4s, anything more would be a bonus! What kinda of run times are you getting? I've never run lipo's before, i'm used to NIMH's, my run times with my Spartan are not that great lol. I'm gonna stick to 4500-5000mah packs. This is a ways off for me still but i'm curious as to how user freindly the Seeking 180 ESC is to use/program? I do have a the card to go with it.

Thanks guys. After running her half a dozen times I am getting really confident with cornering. I'm sure running 4s2p will hurt cornering a bit.

With 4s1p 5000mah I was getting 4-5 minutes. The SeaKing digital programmer is easy as pie to use. I have a feeling Nickel batteries will get extremely hot, I'd run LiPo if at all possible Checkmate.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons why i'm building this boat, i will be running it on Lipo! 4S to start, will try 5S at some point too! I'm gonna flip back and forth with running NIMH's/Lipos in my Spartan, when i'm at the lake the Nickels work fine, it's a great rough water boat. The stock traxxas NIMH's do get pretty hot in the Spartan, but my 7cell DTX Duratrax packs only get warm, speed wise both are plenty for lake bashing. The Spartan is the lake boat, the Daytona will be my pond boat, where speed will matter! Once in a while, i may throw my 7cell DTX NIMH's in the Daytona to run at the lake on a calm evening.

                    Hurry up spring!
Don't over think it Gimp. Water viscosity does decrease as temperature rises but so does prop efficiency and cooling delta. These boats run with very little in the water other than the prop. If you were in a row boat, a ship, ect....you may be able to measure a slight difference. In a RC boat with surface drive props you won't benefit from water temp increase. I've ran with ice that still wasn't fully melted on one side of the lake and it didn't make a difference. The only thing I notice in the cold is my components run cooler.

That said, it looks like it runs very well. I would expect no less from Tique. Congrats on a nice boat and have fun with it!

Clay, scoops are just to look cool.

Matt, I used 2 cans of clear actually. I would clear the whole thing to seal it all and to make it feel nice and uniform. Plus, it allows you to go back and wet sand/polish if you want a smooth mirror finish.
With mine, I did 2 extremely light coats and 2 medium coats with one can, and 2 heavy/wet coats with the second can. Didn't have any left when I was done lol.
