Thinking about possibly changing motors. Want to stay 4s (2x2s) and was thinking either the 2000 or 2200kV 4082 Leopard.

Will I see a jump in performance at all? For sport boating, am I better off with the 2000kV version?

Isn't it a 2200kv 4074 now? IMO it wouldn't be worth a change. You would be better off putting that money into batteries and running 4s2p instead of your current 1p configuration.

2200kv is a great kv for a good running boat on 4s, but 3s2p would be good for a "sport" setup too. A lot of people underestimate how well a 2200kv motor will run on 3s when propped correctly. I've done it before and it's still fun, but much less likely to flip. It would be good if you're in a bit of chop and didn't want to worry about recovering your boat. Runtime with that setup is great too.

        I agree 100% w/ Keith. Stick w/ your 4074 and get 4S batteries to run 2P.

Thanks guys. Will 4S2P run that much better that it's worth the money?

I've seen quite a few 4S2P setups with 4000mah batteries, are they the go-to option?

I run the 4S 4000 30-40C turnigy packs in most of my 2P applications. They seem to have outlasted the nanotechs that were run at the club.

                Thanks for the info Scott!

Prop shopping again, think I'm going to pick up a m442, m445, and x640.

The 442 will be for rougher conditions when I'll be on/off the throttle alot more. The 445 will be run probably 75% of the time. The x640 has slightly more pitch then the 445 but smaller diameter, so torque roll shouldn't be as much as a 447.

Running 4s2p, can I swing a x642? Or will I be drawing too many amps?

You should be Ok with a 642.My 1515 in my MG was running 130-140 amps.I'm pretty sure those were just surge amps.

Sounds like I should be able to swing it when the mood hits lol.

Last run on 4s1p, plastic 45mm prop, and COLD water/air

lol yea, it's uploaded but "processing" now. I'm excited to see how she runs on 4s2p, meaner metal props, and warmer water temps. I was reading that between 40* and 70*, the water is twice as viscous and slows the boat up to 11%. My local water temps are about 33-35* right now.

                              Hurry up spring!

Hey yeah,I forgot about the water temp slowing the speeds down.
If you go any faster your gonna beach it,or stuff it I should say.Your gonna need bigger water there Gimp.
