I don't mind if you do. I only ordered the windshield and the big fighter cat logo, Ben sent along 4 more little cat logos! I also got some bullet nuts for the prop.

I'm thinking of only painting the sponsons white and leaving the tunnel area CF,then I've got spare Fightercats in white.Do you have to do a write up to enter or can you link your build. It'll still be a bit before mine is done though.I might start paint this next weekend.

You need to submit information about the build and upload a picture. It also asks for a build thread. I believe Ben is still taking applications.Originally posted by srislash View PostI'm thinking of only painting the sponsons white and leaving the tunnel area CF,then I've got spare Fightercats in white.Do you have to do a write up to enter or can you link your build. It'll still be a bit before mine is done though.I might start paint this next weekend.

Right on thanks Gimp, still on the fence here.I am soon to be going for the clear as well, then decals, then clear, then paint, then clear.Oh and some sanding in between.Perhaps somewhere in the middle i may enter if I still can.I'm not too big on the attention anyway.

Well she's all cleared! Only thing left is somehow get the cooling line back on the transom fitting lol. Final polishing will be done in a week or two when I go home for Christmas break.
When I set the strut height in line with the sponsons it was way higher than it used to be (maybe 1/4"). Almost to the point where a 45mm prop hardly clears, any ideas? I set the height using my old pictures as a reference just temporarily.

Thanks guys!
I used Duplicolor Clear Lacquer. I was going to try polish compound first. If that doesn't do what I want I will go back, wet sand, then polish. After that is sealer/glaze then wax.Originally posted by srislash View PostWhat did you use for clear? Not sure what ya mean by polish.I used U-pol on my Miss Behavin' and it's shiny as can be

Hay Gimp just to let you no i used a clear Lacquer on my mini MG and every time it got wet id wipe it off and it started looking like the clear was getting thinner and thinner like i started seeing inperfections that i had covered coming back,, yours looks great but just keep that in mine, ive started using automotive spot touch-up enamel in a spray can..

Yeah unfortunately duplicolor clear isn't that good. Its night and day difference between it and the upol shawn suggested. Id scuff the duplicolor and see if u can find upol. I put it over a duplicolor clear it it worked very well. And no need to buff out etc. It dries and still will look wet
