Got the boat today! Let me tell you, Scott's work is truly amazing.
I got everything done tonight that I could. Just waiting on the mailman for the motor mount hardware, hopefully that comes in tomorrow. I also need an m2 screw/nut for the servo, I'll pick one up at the LHS tomorrow. I also threw some temporary decals on the hull so it has a little visual appeal (asides from the beautiful hull shape).
Once I get the hardware I need, I can mount the motor, cut the flex, and get the servo dialed in. Then she'll be ready for the maiden run!

Awesome Chris! thanks for the compliment. Decided not to go w/ the orange tube on the outside huh? I think once you do up the paint it will look more in place and make it pop. P.O. said youd have the screws today. Im sure they will be there tomorrow.
I really enjoyed working with you on this. Thanks again for having me build it for you.

I just have the clear on the outside because nothing else is orange at the moment. I love the look of the orange tubing though, once it's painted the orange will the back on the exterior. I think the screws will be here tomorrow too, beings they were sent a day after the hull. No big rush, it's going to rain Tuesday and Wednesday, then I have a Machine Elements quiz Thursday and a Metallurgy test on Friday. Then it's Thanksgiving break for almost 10 days. Hopefully I can button everything up tomorrow and have the maiden run on Saturday morning.Originally posted by tiqueman View PostAwesome Chris! thanks for the compliment. I'm really excited to get back on the water. Thanks for making it happen Scott.
On the other hand..... The hull feels much more solid than my MG was. Feels like it has a thicker lay on it too, has about twice the mass from what I remember the MG being lol. All in all feels like a real sturdy hull, which is what I was after, a reliable 50-60mph sport boat.

Rain! Boats are made to get wet Chris! I cant tell you how many boats I maidened in the rain.
Throw a parka on, keep your arms out of the sleeves and inside holding the radio and get out there and lets see some vids!!!
Indeed it is a nice solid hull. I had some nasty tumbles w/ my Genesis and it always came out of the water like new.
