Iv'e actually seen footage that was sent to me by Narade of his product racing in Bang Kok , certainly no problem with its efficiency . With my steering set up , i hope to keep it low enough where the servo will sit to make the back centre compartment sealed for the electrics including ESC etc . Bugger about blowovers hey , especially when electrics get damaged , it has happened more than once , with my sport Apparition . What Prop & BL are you currently running ken ??

My set up for now will include

    1) Keda 40-74-1340
    2) X642 - 45 Prop
    3) T180 ESC

All the best in F/E R/C Boating ,

I tried a couple of different props. Cant recall which ones. I just know that one must have had signifigantly more lift than another because a change of only the prop made it get nose high and blow over. I havent got even close to full speed yet. The keda you have is very close to my turnigy 4074. It has lots of grunt. Do you actually have all the components yet. It gets very tricky to fit it all in. The esc takes up a good chunk of room.

        Hi Ken ,

Was going to receive the T56-74-1050 from my wife at Xmas time , though i have changed my mind & have requested from her a T180 ESC instead . Given the fact you believe your motor & the Keda i have , would be similar in performance , sounds like i should be more than satisfied with it . Have completed the paintwork i have had in mind for the Keda & Speed - Drive lower leg . Now have refit greased drive shaft , though i have still to fit steering rods etc ( see attached pics ) , should be interesting when it comes time to fit electrics in rear compartment due to its rather small area to work with as you know . My wifes new camera is playing up so i didnt attach pics i wanted to post ....

That esc should be more than adaquate. I see you mounted your motor on a block. Good call...I was just doing some reading and decided to move my motor farther back as well. I also cut out more foam from the front so i have more room to slide my batts forward.I was getting some water in my hull and realized it was gettting in around the mounting screws and running down inside the transom into the hull so i will correct it when i move my motor back. I like the way you made the paint scheme on the motor match the boat. Very original i think...

            Hi Ken ,

Thanks for the kind remarks regarding my build , it is a slow one so i ocassionally get things wrong like the T56-74-1050 Motor . Though it looks good ( LOL ) . The O/B Pod that i built on the back is 35mm thick & the mounting screws i have attached the lower leg with are around 10mm long . The Hull has been sealed well , including centre section floor . Though the odd thing about the hull is that the right hand vertical stringer that runs front to back is around 3mm higher than the left & i may have to cut or grind the 3mm off to make it level , if you look from the back of the hull you can see it looks like the Lower Leg is at fault - Dumas made a good basic kit i feel , though it is up to us ( owners ) to correct short falls . Looking foward to reading about further outing you have , as you are about six months ahead of when i launch & if i can learn from your efforts than i'd be better off .....

I'm not totally sure I know what stringer your referring to. I tried to see it. I know on mine when I was blueprinting the bottom I realized one of the sponsons was around 1mm deeper than the other. It was the right sponson so im wondering if it was done deliberately to aid with cornering or something like that. I did take some of it out when I was reworking it but I left around 1/2mm difference just in case. Like I pointed out it has not hooked or spun out at allin the turns. The only issue in the corners is with the amount of travel and speed of my servo. It did complete 360 a couple of times from over steering but still didnt show any sign of wanting to go ass over nose.

The area which i am talking about is the vertical right side of the tunnel section on boat , if that helps ( LOL ) . Sounds like you just need to adjust the servo travel on your transmitter , not a biggy , then your steering should be fine . Had same trouble with my Apparition , until i adjusted the steering travel . What amazes me is when you see an R/C Boat that turns on it own length going flat out , & not turns over . If that happened witha real boat i'd hate to be onboard .....

My tunnel may be out for the season now. I pulled the esc from my mono to use in it and its too big. I can get it in but there isnt room enough for my steering servo. And without doing a major overhaul im sol. Was hopeing to have more testing done before the season ended but doesnt look good.

                    Hi Ken ,

I guess the " On " in your profile refers to the fact you live in Ontario Canada , & your refering to the fact that you are about to go into winter with all that that encompasses - blizzards & more relevant to us R/C Boaters " Frozen Lakes " . As R/C Boaters in Australia , we don't have frozen over lakes to ruin our enjoyment of our shared hobby . Though it would be fun to experience a Northern American Winter . BG

Well I guess the third times the charm. The hatch is finally done. I may try to get a few decals for it but other wise its pretty much finished. Managaed to get my hands on another esc. So it will be ready for more testing this weekend if the weatherman co operates.

Saturday is looking like the better of the two days weather wise.
Hatch looks great. Looks like it was worth the trouble!
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Was able to get in some really good runs today. No blow overs. Ran very fast and stable. Needs a touch more trimming but over all a very well behaved hull. Should be some vids up soon.
