Maybe 20mm x 20mm (3/4" x 3/4") on the display's and 30mm (or close) on the "LOWRANCE"?

Yup, and they are very popular. I think its the biggest "gotta have it" item for boaters these days. As long as they are not flashing above the waterline they they are legal.Originally posted by Steven Vaccaro View PostThats extremely cool! Are those legal to use while under way?

Real Scarab......docked in the Bahamas

Haulin butt.......

The scale model.....lights in the same color and configuration as the real boat.
I'll put it in the pool tonight and see how it looks.

Ray....holy crap those Evinrude stickers are nice!!! You did them perfect! Thanks for making multiple copies in different sizes. Awsome.
Now you're in trouble because I'll be asking for more. How about "LOWRANCE" for my radar?
And a few chart plotter displays?
How about the "250" from this link?

Well at least there was no crack showing.
Make sure you didn't tighten the gears too much, I did the same thing when I had mine for the same fear of gear shredding, just back out the stub shaft about a quarter turn or so. Should not be do bouncy when up to some better speed, but if you like this speed, which is quite scale btw, trim the motors down just a tad.

Movie editor...yeah right, it took me half the day to post those videos. This was the first time I ever posted a video. But now I know how to do it.Originally posted by befu View PostThat was making me laugh. I've done it in the past, I finally learned how to use a movie editor, so I can take those shots out.
Your Scarab stickers went out on Saturday, should have them soon.
This build has got me motivated again on my scarab project. Added some glass to the vacuum formed hatch cover last night. Now I need to trim out the hull and fit it in place.

Thanks for the Scarab decals, can't wait. Ray sent me some Evinrude stickers. I'm building the arch now. I'm trying to make it out of clear acrylic rod then painting it silver. If that doesn't work I'll have to see if I can have it made from aluminum.

Yeah thats my not tech savvy friend. He's all over the place with the camera and adding his stupid commentary. LOL
I'll throw the boat in my canal later this week and film from a tripod. Lets see how that works, at least the camera won't be filming my aZz.

Please remove or edit video, at least the second one. If I EVER have to watch another video from you were it starts and ends with your butt shot, I will vote to have you banned
At least tape a picture of a ladies rear over yours!
I think that is in the rules somewhere, small print, towards the rear or bottom.....

OK seriously, other than the butt shot, that looks great! Get the decals done and the tower, you will have a really nice scale boat there that will be really cool to run. I gotta say good job on this one. Looks good at slow speed also the way it sits.
Thank you for posting video, maybe with the butt shots I can get my wife interested in watching boats now.....

OK I was all set to make a good video. But something was wrong with the boat and it wasn't getting anywhere near the speed that is should have. Either the batteries didn't take a full charge or I packed the gearcases with too much grease. The props did feel tight when turning them by hand but I'm so paranoid that I'll blow the gears that I packed the gearcases super tight with grease.
You'll also hear my idiot buddy trying to use the zoom, he's stuck in the 80s and the only modern equipment he can use is a cell phone and thats even questionable. Then again I'm not much better, took me almost 3 hours to figure out how to get the video from my camera to the computer then to youtube.
I'll get another video once I work out the problems, until then here is a sample.

Awsome Ray, thanks!!!
Make-a-Wake....I got the motor cases and gears yesterday. Thanks a million. Definitely two sets of usable gears there. I see what you mean how that one shaft is stuck. I'll get it out, nothing a dremmel can't fix. LOL
