If I ever get around to it I was going to build my 40" DF knock off with the 1090Kv Leopard. I have already made my own cooling jacket. I have everything but, busy with other projects.
I haven't seen or heard of many actually running a big leopard yet... i am anxious to here how they run out... keep us updated ray....

I've never said a Scorpion could not do it, I meant that the Turnigy wasn't capable of it.
With China's inconsistencies in KV values etc, I'm not shure of too much from Turnigy etc. but, I know Scorpion motors are make on superior CNC machines made in Japan not China. Therefore It is very possible to get better numbers from Scorpions outrunners.
If you want a higher KV 4035 or 5035, just PM Lucien from rc groups or the Innov8tive designs. You will pay extra though.

Most 600 Heli's are about 7 lbs-8lbs Loaded aren't they? You can't expect much more for $30.

I don't have alot of experience with the scorpions because frankly I just don't run my boats enough... but I did have one in a gas layup 44" Aeromarine Team America and it pushed her to 50mph without getting her fine tuned.... on a x455 prop....
Ya, I think I'll try her next on an X447 on 8S and see what kind of heat we get. I don't know how much longer it'll last since the first run she came back smokin hot... literally. Probably well over 200F. I gots an inrunner in mind, I just hope the mounting screws work for this mount...
that is a fair statement. on the other hand the ul-1 motors are rated at 50 amps and i have been running those in spec riggers and outboards for along time at well over 90 peak. this one in the graph is over a year old.... hmmmSpecs:

I would try to keep the amps to 110 or lower with that motor. And 8-10s on that motor is awesome! IMO 10s for the 880kv, 8s for the 1100kv, and 6s for the 1400kv at and 3300ish max watts for each.
