I like the line of thought regarding smaller prop/higher voltage = lower amps and heat; which in turn = more efficient. I am going to try next some smaller props and then report back.

why is 163 too many amps???? keep in mind that by turning a bigger prop the amperage is going up even though voltage is going down...

remember that when the end result RPM is the same a 6s system will draw less amperage than a 4s system. given that the kv isnt changing i am sure your lower voltage/big prop is drawing less amperage but i am curious by how much. i feel that 160 amps isnt out of line and perfer the way the hull handles on smaller props at higher rpm... this also is peak amps, not average..

Thats why I say 6S is too much, too many amps. That is why I went to 5S. Turns a bigger prop.

My buddy runs one on 6S in a PT sport 40 and it does a good 60mph.

For $30, what else could you want?

Try a Leopard 1090kv 5692 on 7S, I am...

Think outside 2S, 4S, 6S, Etc...

here you can see real numbers from eagle tree with a m445 on 6s... it is allready pulling 163amps

I run the 1400 on 5S2P and a x450 D/T & thinned in a 29" Phantom cat. It does a decent 50+ mph, possibly close to 60, I have to GPS it.

I first tried 6S1P but, felt it was excessive rpm with a 45mm prop.

The temps & amp draw for 50Mph are very nice & low. I want to try some other props before the water goes hard here.

Using turnigy 180 esc @ 15D timing, plug & play basically.

I added watercooling to the top only for now, but the 4074 on 4s is a very cool (literally) combination. A good 4 minutes of wot running and everything was nice and cold. For watercooling the Monster, see here:

well i run the t600 1400kv on 6s and it stays around 130-140 after 2 minutes. i think you have 2 problems going on here.
1) i run it in a much smaller, lighter 32" cat
2) i use a m445-447 prop

i think a 60mm prop is going to require alot more motor. those are torque monsters but a 60mm prop on a $29 motor? that probablly aint gona happen. from what i have seen $450 neu 2215's are turning 455-457 in 43" cats. that is alot more motor, a little less prop and just a little more hull..

took out the little kitty and got her wet. Kinda wondering if this motor is gonna get me up to 60 without burning out first.

Here is video, its a quickie with no effects... just a documentation clip.

I ran her on 6S2P (7200mah total) and a X460 prop and after a minute or so brought her back in and the motor was probably 160-180... I have a water cooled mount, but it doesn't seem to keep my temps down. The Monster was warm, maybe 120 or so with two cooling lines along the outside fins. I am thinking of making a big water box to set it on where the whole base is cooled, ahhhh.

Does this prop sound too big? or the motor just too wimpy?

Also, please comment on ride attitude.

Question: have people been seeing the Monster 2000 heating up? I have thrown a couple water lines along the outer edges, but was wondering if I should do more water cooling and/or hook up a CPU fan as well?

Jesse not enought people have run the monster to get enough feedback... I've had a few of them... I ran one with no cooling at all with a scorpion 4035/800 on 10s for 3 minutes...and she ran kinda hot... 150 degrees..... I would recommend cooling lines and a cpu fan just to be safe til you get a baseline, like I say because no one has enough experience on here with them to say so.... let me know when you get your "loaner" program card

Glad you got it. I did somthing different on the coupler for you with 6 set screws. Do solder the end of the cable before you set the screws to it.
