I've never said a Scorpion could not do it, I meant that the Turnigy wasn't capable of it.

With China's inconsistencies in KV values etc, I'm not shure of too much from Turnigy etc. but, I know Scorpion motors are make on superior CNC machines made in Japan not China. Therefore It is very possible to get better numbers from Scorpions outrunners.

If you want a higher KV 4035 or 5035, just PM Lucien from rc groups or the Innov8tive designs. You will pay extra though.

[QUOTE=ray schrauwen;233801]I think this hull is too large & heavy for the motor. Did you weigh the hull before assembly?

    Most 600 Heli's are about 7 lbs-8lbs Loaded aren't they? You can't expect much more for $30.

The HK4035 Scorpion may only be a slight imrpovement IMO but, worth a go.[/QUOTE

I don't have alot of experience with the scorpions because frankly I just don't run my boats enough... but I did have one in a gas layup 44" Aeromarine Team America and it pushed her to 50mph without getting her fine tuned.... on a x455 prop....

    4200 Cont. Watts....

    Heres the specs..

They also have a new 5035 series...just not enough KV yet.... unless you are running a schulze you could run 14s.....

On another note what about the $149 Leopard 5692? this would be a great test for one of those motors...

Hey jesse the x460 is too big for sure.. thats the recomended prop for a little screamer outrunner.. and its on the verge of being to big...

    I have a NIB scorpion 4035 800kv in case you need a pick me up...lol... witht the scorpion I'd run a x455.....

Gorgeous evening, calm waters, batteries charged...... what else can I say? ummm went by meself - thus no vid.

    7S2P with X447 ---- 37mph and maybe 120F, pleasantly warm.
8S2P same prop ----42mph and closer to 140F, hot tap water.

I am getting the feeling this is NOT the motor to get me 60 mph, but will do nicely when the wind kicks up.

Ya, I think I'll try her next on an X447 on 8S and see what kind of heat we get. I don't know how much longer it'll last since the first run she came back smokin hot... literally. Probably well over 200F. I gots an inrunner in mind, I just hope the mounting screws work for this mount...

    2030kV rpm/volt
    Input Voltage: 7-18.5V
    Max Constant Current: 50A
    Max Surge Current: 80A/five seconds
    No Load Current: 5.0A

at $29 who cares how long it last anyway.... that is equil to about 9 tanks of 60% nitro. i have over 10 runs on mine allready..
That is a very good point!

I would try to keep the amps to 110 or lower with that motor. And 8-10s on that motor is awesome! IMO 10s for the 880kv, 8s for the 1100kv, and 6s for the 1400kv at and 3300ish max watts for each.

I am in the cad process for a 40" 4 motor, 2 outdrive hydro with the 1400kv version.
