A little update, after it being on and off like a whores drawers I have removed my ski again, taken out the flexshaft, rearranged the interior and fitted a wire drive, I am finally totally happy with it in all respects.

Ok, I know this thread has not been used in a long time, but I am looking for pictures of esc placement for PSpec UL-1 esc and motor setups ....
I needed to extend my motor wires to run last year and I had de soldering issues with two wires.. they came loose

JAE UL-1 ESC motor lead extensions(4).jpgJim's JAE finished! 004.jpgJim's JAE finished! 005.jpg

I just moved wire from one end of the control to the other. I have built approx. 10 of the limited boats this way. No problems at all.
What connectors are you using? What prop are you running? How did you extend the leads?

I'm thinking my main issue is I did not use connectors but just soldered the wires together
I do like the first picture you posted and will resolder my connectors back on with the wire extensions
I really want this boat to flat out haul

I do think this is the issue for me of not having connectors

Note: I use the 4mm female connectors that came off of the control (with the cup cut off) as butt connectors for the extensions.

Agree...I used 5.5mm female bullets with the solder cups cut off as butt connectors with zero problems. Also used that German 10 Ga, 1000 strand wire that Steve used to carry here on OSE.
Also switched from 4S to 5S w/o any problems.

not sure if this is a good prop for the JAE but I had a V942/3 on it on the last race of the season last year....

is there any benefits to removing the ski from this rigger?
