It depends on the motor mount. The 15 series motor won't fit in the Zippkits mount without some minor modifications to the side pieces of the mount.
I'm pretty sure it will fit in the Williams mount but putting the washers and nuts on is a major PITA!

Getting it dialed in. These things are so fun. Running a Neu 1415 2200kv with a Hyperion 4S 25C 5000, 5.1 pounds RTR. Had a 1440 prop on it today because the X450 (from Zippkits) is on the bottom of the harbor thanks to a loose coupler. doh

The clear epoxy on wood looks nice up close, but the boat is too hard to see in the water. Want to paint it bright orange. Any recommendations for painting on the epoxy surface?

Thinking about spraying acrylic, then brushing a coat of clear epoxy on top.

Hi guys I saw people asking about the outer clamps and how to make them work, I do a double I.D. clamp with a 8mm main hole drilled thru, then i take an 11/32 end mill and run it half way thru the clamp making it bite to both surfaces of the brass and carbon. I make and sell these as well @ 20.00 a set. W e have found during testing that these will save your boat if you hit a bouy- being not drilled carbon they are not weakened at all and will not break but all the force of inpact will simply slide the clamp and push your sponson outward and not breaking anything.

I didn't realize you left the wood grain. It looked like it was painted white in some previous pictures. That looks really nice, especially the sponsons. (I did leave a tiny bit of the wood grain- the ski and the transom)

Thanks! Sometimes it will get stranded in the middle of the harbor. I was real worried that a boat would run it over, so went with the brightest color possible.

Anyone securing the lid with something other than tape?

Thinking about trying adding a gasket to the lid (on the stock lid, not the fighter jet lid), then using two bolts/wingnuts to clamp it down.

Spending too much time taping!

To get the AQ motor to fit I have put the cooling in/out on the bottom of the motor. Do you folks see a big problem with this?

You will get an air pocket at the top of the cooling jacket which will result in less efficient cooling of the motor.

Just a thought if you restricted the flow out of the jacket a little will that not force the water jacket to fill up more generally there is a good flow going through I know as a general rule its best one up on top and the other on the bottom.
