Maiden Run
We have had some warm days and one of our ponds has opened up, This pond is small and not good for racing but we use it for some testing and scale boat running. It was very windy today so I started with the smallest 3/16 propI have, a y 537. I taped the hatch closed and put the boat on the water, Well it floats, thats a good thing. I eased the throttle , she moved forward slowly I did a steering check and and pulled the trigger but the prop cavitated to the extreme So I backed off the throttle and eased back into it,the Crackerbox moved slowly but was gaining some speed , I made 2 small laps and pulled back to shore. It needed more prop. All the temps were cold so I put on a 40X52-3 blade and closed up then back in the water. The wind was getting stronger so i decided to run but carefully as I didn't want to put her on her top if I could avoid it. I slowly pointed her nose down wind and hit the throttle, the prop slipped for about 2 feet then grabbed water and the boat took off across the pond, I ran a few laps and she handled the rough chop better then I thought, It was quick and ran very well for her first run, I did not push it because of the windy conditions and the bottom is nearly flat, these are not rough water boats but I am very pleased with her maiden runs. The Blackjack power package and driveline works well in this boat so this should be fun. I'll get some more testing done if the water stays open and start tuning. I think it all went well. Here is a short video of one of the runs. All of the temps were below 80 degrees at the runs end.

Todd If you had seen her yesterday on smoother water I think you'd be really hooked. I moved the batteries back a bit and went to an X442 prop that has been detounged and a slight roll increase at the tips and it really came to life, still very stable, after a 3 minute run all my temps were under 90 degres. And it was a blast to drive. I could nail the throttle and hit the corners with quite a bit of speed and she stayed true , The power set up works and these boats are cheap to build. 4-5 of these racing together would be a gas!!
Sounds good. I stand by with great anxiety and anticipation!
