That is a close fit....very close. Not sure I can drill those but will try a sample. How long of stub? 2" or 2.25"

Are you sure? I run 1/8" stub shafts with .098 cable in my boats, easier to make.

It has been years since I have seen continuous diameter cables. Old way was to take a 1/8" flex cable, and cut the outer layer of strands off of the last 3/8". Then you measure the smaller inside cable and drill the 1/8" stub for that. solder it all together and polish the joint down to a continous diameter. We did this with 1/4" cable, but it should be the same.

Can't drill a 1/8 stub with a .125 hole, they are the extact same size! Go 1/8 stub with .093 wire.

Yep, I can make you a 1/8 x 062 wire drive that will hold it.
