HAHAHA I hope Grant reads this.... Most of the time his boats can be recoverd by walking to the other side of the pond and picking them up out of the grass...

As for the inside on that... Ive got a little spot in my 4 acre pond that if your not careful or used to it, a littel area will creep up on you quick and Ive almost run into the bank several times. Grant was running over hear one day and put his little Vortex hydro, which turns great but really wide, up on the bank twice. So now I give him crap about it at least once every couple days.... and that was 6 or 7 weeks ago....

Like I said, my Hammer works well, just looking for something that will be a little faster, without adding hooks and whatnot to my hulls. And more importantly, Im in the mood to build something different.

Although in Grants defense, that day he had a wicked fast narrow mono out there that loved to roll upside down. One recovery I had a heck of a time getting his capsized boat into the cradle of the hammer. I musta went at it a dozen times before I finally got it right. And it was out there a little ways, but it wasnt like it was 100 yrds away...

The hook has a float and is attached to the hull via a line, usually a small eyelet or other attachment location where you could tie it on. Maybe I wasn't clear, so I figured I'd clarify.

You may want to put a skeg in the water towards the bow. It will provide a surface to turn against and avoid drifting in the wind while returning to shore. It's not necessary, but it may help.

My Hammer doesnt really drift. It actually is a great contraption once cradled around the vehicle in distress. Its just slow getting to it. Its the overturned boats that blow around in the breeze and aften make it difficult to line up. Thats why I want something that will turn on a dime.
