    WTB BJ26 stock hrdwr

Hey guys. I heard the stock BJ26 hardware rocks and steerable outdrives are the best thing EVER and I want to put it on my next build

Actually, I am looking for the steerable drive w/ prop shaft and coupler (with or w/ out flex. I know, I know.. WHY????? I want to get creative on a rescue rig build. And I just replaced the hrdwr on my BJ26 w/ the hrdwr Steven sells, which by the way... kicks ... and now I have hrdwr w/ out a home which is illegal in my house.

So whos got one and how much? I can get all this new for about $35.00, but am not that excited about the project to pay that.

I have a set, I can get you pictures later on this evening. I had a similar idea for the hardware, but I don't see myself getting around to it. I'll say $15 shipped.

      Let me know.

OK, here's a pic. I'll have to look for the coupler and prop shaft. I'll look this evening.

Yeah for 2 reasons...manuverability and speed to get to it. Im using my AC Hammer now and although its ok, its not great. Especially when from 50 yrds away you miss the boat, then have to go n a big loop and re-try. And, it takes too long to get it to the capsized boat. Coming back slow doesnt bother me, but getting there slow, Im over. The Hammer runs at a fine speed for what it is, but as soon as I hook my rescue contraption up to it, it hardly goes walking speed. I dont run it at full throttle when Im using it becasue whether your half or full, it goes the same speed. And Im sure its straining the components and has no water circulation at that speed.

It will probably be a scratch built hull (2) connected w/ pvc. More than likely a brushed set up, as I have motors and I think 2 matching brushed escs... Im not looking for record breaking speeds w/ it. If it does 10mph I will be more than pleased. But mainly I want the drives on seperate channels so that it has forward/ reverse to each seperatley, Id be able to spin it on a dime. Im thinking 3 channels, Ch 1. steering, ch 2. on motor A and ch 3. on motor B. Maybe a 4th for a "mystery function" that I have yet to determine. Ive got a old Futaba 7 or so ch radio from when I flew a nitro chopper, So I think I will use that.

Will do Al. Im not in a rush to build it. And I havent quite decided on how to do the hull. Im either going to draw something up on cad and build it, or Ive got some other thoughts processing right now of neat ways to do it. Hopefully w/ in a few weeks I will have started it.

At our pond, we use a hook on an end of a line. We circle around the stranded boat, the hook catches and then you pull it to shore. The main issue is being able to turn a tight slow circle and having enough mass to pull it to shore in the direction you want.

Contact "Egneg" here on the forum and he can provide a picture of what the hook looks like. It's really simple, works, and has an innate ability to successfully 'hook-up' to bring the model to shore.

Credit goes to DirtySouth who designed and implemented the hook for boat rescue. Thus, the name of the hook is appropriately named the "Dirty Hook"

I understand you are building a rescue boat, but since you mentioned you weren't immediately going to implement, I figured that this information could help in the short term.

You can't beat that deal. To be honest, I would have let you have it for shipping if I wasn't keeping it around for another purpose.

LOL, now i look like the jerk that didn't just offer it up to you for free. At the very least, I know that I have a U joint and shaft that's only been run twice. You're more than welcome to that. I'll try to put my hands on it tonight.
