Bigpapa, .08" does not equal 8mm. Sorry.

Best thing to use would probably be the ACP rod. Gonna be the strongest of all these.

Looks like my supplier has some here:

I didn't see any in the wrapped carbon listings, but it's here in the pultruded... Hope this helps...

You've got it, adjustable rigger sponson mount tube thingies even! I'm trying a few sponsons on a hull and want the ability to move in and out as well as removable for testing purposes. The hull I'm working with already has 8mm booms. I plan on sleeving with a piece of aluminum tubing and drilling through both the sleeve and the booms, thus the reason for the requested solid core.

It was always my understanding that tubing is stiffer then a solid rod. Never bothered to ask details as to why. It was always for chassis and roll cages though. Not sure if the same logic holds true for carbon fiber.

                          Stiffer for a given weight...

But drilling holes through a carbon tube, much less pultruded, won't last long at all.

I've also considered running another rod inside, but at that point, I stopped pondering it as I thought I was overthinking the solution. I seem to do a lot of that.
I hollow tube should be nearly as strong as a solid tube.

Now I don't know, but I imagine that the tinsel strength is very close to the same, but the hollow tube wouldn't flex as well as the solid tube. I'm thinking that with more material, the load is able to be spread out more, so it would be less likely to fully fracture and fail during a shearing situation.

                              Any thoughts?

On mine, I laminate a piece of aluminum tubing inside the carbon, and use a piece of brass tubing around the outside where it installs into the sponsons and into the tub...
