What do you think of twin motor mount?
I will need to install or have rails included (4" spacing) for my outrunners spaced probably 2" apart (as close to the rails as possible)."Look good doin' it"

You want a double mount to go between 4'' rails ? No problem, can do. If the rails aren't in the boat yet can make a double mnt for that too, that is if you don't want to do rails......Is it for your Triton twin ?, just seen a pic. Let me know I can make one for you right away......You want black ? I will need exact i.d. between rails ware rails meet the floor and at top of them, will need to know how tall they are, hole spacing on motor with thread size and motors can size and the individual wieght of them . I also would like to know how much more rail would be left from the point ware the motor plate will be mounted to the end of the rails so I can cut a proper sized adjustment support...........Lets do it !Originally posted by Jesse J View PostWhat do you think of twin motor mount?

Those are awesome mounts they definitely give the guys some more choices when it comes to there builds , you should ask Steven if you could put a permanent post in the unique section , seriously you should...........................
other wise this may end up getting lost on the swap shop escalatorLast edited by Punisher 67; 01-26-2011, 01:22 PM.Necessity is the mother of invention.............

Truelly thank you for the coment ! They are in a way a real custom job each one since I only have templates and cut everything free hand and even tap those threads by hand. Really hard to get all the holes perfect so each one needs to be assembled and checked for alignment then disasembled and waller out any tight hole.....they are 100% functional before they will go to a customer..........Originally posted by Punisher 67 View PostThose are awesome mounts they definitly give the guys some more choices when it comes to there builds , you should ask Steven if you could put a permanent add in the unique section , seriously you should...........................

Cool Randy, I am now thinking this may be an option for my buddy's Aeromarine Titan 40. Since I will be running outrunners in my Cyklon, I will need to have the mount water cooled. But for the Titan, I think this would look really cool. He wants to use Proboat motors and they already installed the 4" rails. Once the boat gets here we can discuss just how to make em - with the deadrise and all. would like to get them as low as we can go. I am sure the specs on the Proboat (BJ) motors are pretty easy to find.
the mount for the outrunners may need to be brass or aluminum with lots of water cooling... then again, they may not need it... I will get back to you with the word on this mount too, I can give you a 3view drawing with exact dimensions so it will be easy to trace and cut.
Nice work by the way!!!
edit: I was just thinking of the weight and might like to try a CF mount first, then if the motors get too hot I can go aluminum. I will post up my drawing here when it is ready. Yes, will need to make the rails for just the mount - like the Triton, but for my Cyklon (pics below).. motors are: Suppo 3126 1600kv. the dead rise is about 33deg. sketch is an idea. dimensions are correct, style is pretty much lacking. I could see some cutaway areas for increasing airflow... whatcha thinkLast edited by Jesse J; 01-26-2011, 01:28 PM."Look good doin' it"

You could gain some room by using a double mount."Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex... It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction."

K cool .....I would recomend bringing them in even closer or evenly spaced incase you want to go bigger motors latter on, do you know the bolt spacing on the motors , I would guess 25mm but would like to be certain.Originally posted by Jesse J View PostCool Randy, I am now thinking this may be an option for my buddy's Aeromarine Titan 40. yes 25mm.
I have them spaced out like that... well because I am not sure that tight together they won't have an efficiency reducing effect, being in each others magnetic field and all. Some have even suggested staggering them (but I am not up to that logistical challenge at the moment).
I just printed out what I posted and gonna mock it up to see what it looks like. I will report back. I think this is gonna look really cool and work quite well."Look good doin' it"

Just tested and it looks pretty close. I am thinking of going 5" spacing on the "stringers" and have them short like in the sketch - less than 3". Since this will be down in the step and way up front, I don't think the spacing will be an issue and we can space the motors at 3" apart just to be sure.
PM me with an estimate (price) when you have enough info to assess. thanks.
