Just tested and it looks pretty close. I am thinking of going 5" spacing on the "stringers" and have them short like in the sketch - less than 3". Since this will be down in the step and way up front, I don't think the spacing will be an issue and we can space the motors at 3" apart just to be sure.

Jesse I have it marked off, soorry for the blure POS camera. Look OK? The flames will be even , later on will re-do after i cut them out.. just example...I dont feel cuting out the center part would be good for the rigidity of the mount so I recomend doing the bottom ....I think you were wanting to run motor wires ??

nice, lets leave the cross mount w/o any cut outs at all, you are right - rigidity; I can assess when it gets here.

as far as I can tell the flames look good, don't want you to spend a ton of time on this.

Cool Randy, I am now thinking this may be an option for my buddy's Aeromarine Titan 40. Since I will be running outrunners in my Cyklon, I will need to have the mount water cooled. But for the Titan, I think this would look really cool. He wants to use Proboat motors and they already installed the 4" rails. Once the boat gets here we can discuss just how to make em - with the deadrise and all. would like to get them as low as we can go. I am sure the specs on the Proboat (BJ) motors are pretty easy to find.

the mount for the outrunners may need to be brass or aluminum with lots of water cooling... then again, they may not need it... I will get back to you with the word on this mount too, I can give you a 3view drawing with exact dimensions so it will be easy to trace and cut.

edit: I was just thinking of the weight and might like to try a CF mount first, then if the motors get too hot I can go aluminum. I will post up my drawing here when it is ready. Yes, will need to make the rails for just the mount - like the Triton, but for my Cyklon (pics below).. motors are: Suppo 3126 1600kv. the dead rise is about 33deg. sketch is an idea. dimensions are correct, style is pretty much lacking. I could see some cutaway areas for increasing airflow... whatcha think

esc plate

ESC plate is getting some engineering.......my Rico......Disigned to keep wieght low, two 4mm allen bolts easily remove plate to access collet and on my ap. battery removal.

CF turn fins

Just a few pics of a Simple mount in my Rico build......and a pic of my CF turn fins and brackets, turn fins I traced from some accu-tec fins and then shortend them down to 2 3/4 like the ones on Doug Smocks record holding Rico. They are .080 or 2mm thick( half the thickness of A-T aluminum and a-lot lighter........

yo, it showed up today! that silver is gorgeous. I haven't got it all assembled into the boat yet, had to run after I got the mail.

I will post up some pics later in my build thread. Thanks again for the KILLER work.

Aaron I got it drawn up...I am going to leave you room for a water jacket unless you know you wont be needing one...let me know ok , i can get the motor and esc plate lower without a jacket.....Also i have the esc plate on the mount, it will be easier to move out of the way here and there will be less bolts in your rails and no guess work for me ....lol.....let me know its ok ....I will need to run a support across the top of motor plate so that can be made an esc mount....Design at the top area might change a little...
