LOL OH MAN.....Long story short, put the boat on its top, didnt have my retreval boat with me that day , no wind...... so i took a few rocks and threw them behind the boat to create a little ripple...... one slipped outta my hands and sure enough it landed on the bottom of the hull, luckely it wasen't on a step..... I repaired it with fiberglass bathtub refinishing kit i had from a previous job,( im a contractor) worked great and the color almost matches perfectly. Ill include the rest of the contents of that kit in with the sale.
Hahaha I really laughed out loud.
Not at your mis-fortune, just at the "I was throwing rocks at it and..."
Too funny. I will admit I have done similar stuff, just been too lucky to suffer the consequences. I have circled around a stranded boat at speed, coming inches from hitting it every time just to intentionally "spray" it back to shore. I guess thats pretty close to chucking rocks at it. We do some pretty crazy stuff when we are desperate to get our boats back!
Yeah looks great J. Im not dogging the 1717 bro. I think you will be impressed with the torque from this guy
Regardless of what motor it is though, its a lot of kv to go fast in a 40" mono. The OP upgraded to this boat from his cat that went...I think 58 if I remember correctly???...I think he probably wants to go faster...
I ran x457 and s240 props @ 34,000RPM on my 40" mono to get in the 60's. That would be heavy load on 6s.
Sorry for jacking your thread b . We are trying to help though...
Hey guys, that's my cat and yes 6s is working but with amps around 180. I've stopped using the eagle tree with it since it's only rated for 150amps. I actually had a 5.5 connector come unsoldered today and I thought I had lost my swordfish 240. But the 1717 is holding up well as an air cooled outboard so far.
Hahaha I really laughed out loud.

This was the 1st run outta the box new on 4s. I ran a x642 2nd and 3rd run with a 20'+ rooster tail and no heat!!!!. That little outrunner is a torque monster and its a light hull.

I gotta admit, Jed it is YOUR fault that I bought this. Ever since I saw your photos coming up in the random picks, I have needed one. They are just too gorgeous to not own one - and the steps.... wahoooo.
Boat came in yesterday... and I jumped for joy - she is even more beautiful in person!!! I happened to have a flex the exact dimensions and was able to take her for a spin yesterday evening. Was not impressed at all with speed... seemed to hit a wall and not go faster (wonder if I needed to recalibrate my TX with the ESC). Anyway, original plan was to throw in the Castle 1520 - then I saw that 1/8" flex and 4mm stub, turned on the music and went to work. I already have it stripped, fiberglassed and installed custom made motor mount and MHZ hardware.
this is the state of the P1 as it sits on my kitchen table finishing the West Systems Epoxy cure.
oh ya, and now I can run up to 46-47mm props (one in picture is 46), not that I was intending to as this will compound the torque-roll tendency, but the 42mm limit on the venom hardware was unacceptable.
the cool thing: I take venom hardware and it fit perfectly on my MHZ Shockwave!!!
