Bill, the next time I hear that, I'm gonna puek, vommit, hurl, vacuate my stomach contents.. I know you have our interests at heart..the key to you're comment is:"Unfortunately they only want to cater to the gas oriented modeler"... We have to establish our own idenity or be relegated to : we will fit you in if we can:Originally posted by bill34207 View PostI guess that looking at it from that angle, the same cost factor should apply to the snowbirds too.
When it comes to "amenities" Riverview has Ackerman beat many times over yet their dues are lighter than ours currently are. Unfortunately they only want to cater to the gas oriented modeler.
Oh yeah... (good old crs) Todays videos are starting to be linked in over at RC Groups

Then wouldn't you agree that the best way to develop a presense would be to increase the membership at large?Originally posted by highndry View Post*!***!***!***!**, My original plan in starting this club was to establish a FE prescence on the west coast.

Quite welcome Ray. Hey, on that PTH you were talking about, is it the stealth sport or super sport 21?

Yes. I propose we have a vote by current members on the 12th. My proposal, given the thoughts offered here previously, and my obvious opinionated position on part-year residents would be as follows:Originally posted by bill34207 View PostThen wouldn't you agree that the best way to develop a presense would be to increase the membership at large?
OPTION 1: Annual fee $ 35.00 for everyone: Yes or No
OPINION:That seems somewhat unfair for the charter members since we all paid an initiation fee, but if that is the concensus, I'm cool with it.
The members should propose other options for a vote if they have other thoughts.Boats don't win races, drivers do.

For what it's worth Mike, I paid the initiation fee and a years dues when I joined as well. I'm just campaigning to try and make our group more appealing when it comes to joining. I wouldn't even find the yearly dues @ $50 to be overly imposing although $35 will work even better in the area of new member appeal. Just getting rid of the initiation fee is a wonderful thing in my opinion.Originally posted by highndry View PostYes. I propose we have a vote by current members on the 12th. We should keep in mind that Ackerman is not a "private" facility. It's a county owned & maintained public park. As such, we don't have the authority to prohibit anyone from running there. All we can do as a club is encourage others to play with us and if they are not willing to ante up in maintaining the club we are not forced to play with them. We can then inform them that they can just go and play with themselves.
