No sweat. the Land O Lakes can come off. Just used it as a balancing element.
I use CorelDraw X3. I helped develop the program back in the 80's and am somewhat of a guru with it.

Ray, the cool part is I can change the logo any time I want. For example, I foresee having a true Model Boat Club with scales and sailboats, as well as racing. The logo/seal could have a sailboat on one, a tugboat on another, etc. I can also make decals as you know.
Thanks for your input! Greatly appreciated!Mini Cat Racing USA

New Racing Site
Gentlemen,
After doing some Google Earth surfing. I happened upon a place called Ackerman Park in Sarasota. Upon visiting the park, to my surprise there was a 1/6th mile course already in place, though it appears neglected. This is a sand bottom pond, so no weeds and the course is placed on the South end of the lake to take advantage of the 8 foot bank rise to allow better viewing while racing.
Soooo, I arranged a meeting with the Sarasota County Parks folks last Friday. They are very enthusiastic and helpful regarding us using the lake for racing. While I have a few more hoops to jump through, it appears that we will have permission to set up a PERMANENT course on this lake. Final resolution of any issues will occur by next Friday.
The only downside – we have to pay about $70/event for use of the pond to ensure no one else shows up with a group of kayaks, etc. This seems reasonable so long as we have 6 or more guys running.
The pond is in a great location on the SE corner of I-75 and Fruitville Road in Sarasota. Pics of the site are in my gallery here:
Let me know what you think.
All the best,
Ray

How many are going to the Tampa race on the 21st? I talked to John Otto last night. The Riverview site has a race that day and then the Brandon club has theirs in Dover on the 28th as I understood him.Mini Cat Racing USA

Is the Riverview race this weekend or next? My days are kinda running together after being in the hospital/rehab for 9 days. The two day races are district point races so they won't offer electrics. There aren't that many races a year anyway. That's why I still think we need our own facility to do electrics so we can run all the electric classes without having to compete for lake time with the nitro/gas guys. They've been very gracious but electric isn't their thing like nitro/gas isn't ours. Not trying to be snobbish but still need our own setup in my opinion.

Just spoke to Herb. Looks like he'll be having some medical procedure next week and won't be able to make the race(s) either. He said the Akerman park lake in Sarasota that Ray found was the site of an IMPBA nationals a few years back.Mini Cat Racing USA
