Pretty soon you'll be able to fix anything..Originally posted by macdon View PostJason - hey bud, whatever happened to that damaged gas Cat you got months ago? Did you get to fix her up?
I maybe in a position to be handed a F-41 Stryker Cat that has a badly damaged left sponson - upper half completely gone. Left bottom ride pads got damages too. If I get to fix her up, I guess I have a 4th gas boat!

I got all the cracks and damaged areas cut out and ready for repair. I have not touched it since. I decided it was time for me to start running my boats and take a break on working on boats...

I thought last Saturday I will be given a Stryker F-41 too! hehehe! Though Tony's accident was severe. But, since the original Stryker hulls are really tough, the damage was not enough for Tony to let go of his hull! hahaha! It would have been nice to have a Stryker F-41 and the newer Stryker topgun2.

Yeah, I took on Scott's (tiqueman) advice and removed my wooden tray, but instead of CF I just went with another layer of fiberglass. The 2 battery wooden trays are separate from the main wooden tray so you dont need to take those off.Originally posted by skyman View Postguys, please tell me what materials i need in order to get my hull to look like this, that carbon fiber look. i think it's tiqueman's boat, right?

Unless like Shawn, he got to remove his battery trays and got to position them lower on the transom sides.
CF is like cloth you lay down on the floor of your boat and brush on the appropriate CF resin to bond the CF to the hull. Go to youtube and type CF tutorials so you can see how it is done. Watching a video will be easier than getting instructions thru words.

Very similar just different chemicals. Instead of fiberglass cloth, you use CF cloth. Then, instead of epoxy resin - you use resin for CF. But the method of application is similar.Originally posted by skyman View Postok i will do that, thanks! are they similar to work with fiberglass v. cf?

yeah, i think i'm gonna go all the way... the battery tray seems difficult, and how did scotty wrap the motor mount with cf? i'm guessing he glued the motor mount & servo mount first to the hull then applied the cfOriginally posted by macdon View PostVery similar just different chemicals. Hey guys,
Since we recently talked about kick-back rudders and plastic rudder shear bolts, I thought you might like to see the pics below. There's a discussion over at Jim's Dock about rudders hitting stuff and you tend to loose any control due to the rudder staying up.Attached Files
