as i said i just have the hull. im new in the r/c boat area and Im trying to get the boat to go about 40-45 mph range without costing me to much money. Ive read a lot of these posts but cant decide what I need to do to get the maximum speed. I need an esc, motor and batteries. Can anyone give me the ideal setup for speed and reliability for not to high of a price.

well for a start why not go for the x-power brushless esc and the stock BJ motor bang for buck will get you in the ball park speed figure your looking for if your on a budget but i always say save your $ and go for a better set up which will save you in the long run as the more you get experience with your boat the more you will want from it

Im not really sure what you are trying to say. Should I not waste my money with the stock motor and upgrade it, or buy a better esc, and hardware?Originally posted by MAXAMUS View Posti always say save your $ and go for a better set up which will save you in the long run as the more you get experience with your boat the more you will want from it

what i mean is you get what you pay for i never even put my boat in the water with stock hardware i saved and upgraded first but had order my boat first it was on back order and i waited over 5 weeks and ended up importing it from the US instead
basicly you can run a stock boat but after a while you will feel the hunger for more power and speed and with that comes $$$ its a expensive hobbyMaxamus
