    ESC help

where can i find a good and cheap ESC. i know at hobby king but which one. I think my problem might have to do with the ESC or the RX. so i'm going to give it a shot at the ESC first because the RX light is still on. thanks

I read your other thread, I would troubleshoot a little more before just assuming its the esc. If you really want a new esc though, heres some links.

I run this one myself and like it and the program box is very nice. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbyking/s...ter_Cooled_ESC

Just don't get anything less than 60 amps and you'll be ok, also the hobbywing/turnigy 180amp big esc's don't fit in the hull so stick to the slim design.

Have you tried adding a new cap on the controller, its a simple fix that may help,,,some where on here there is a thread about it.

what causes the cap to go bad do you know? all i did was leave the batteries connected for a couple of days when i was done running. when i came back the batteries were shot and now the boat won't even turn on, the rutter turns though

The cap on the early models of the UL-1 was under rated and sometimes just died, a local electrinic shop might have better rated ones. I have been trying to find the thread on here about replacing them, but not havng any luck. PM a member here called LiPo Power, he started that thread.

Good add Doby, an extra cap was the first thing I added to my ul-1 before I even ran it. Here's where I got mine from. http://www.kintecracing.com/Electrical.html (scroll towards bottem). Very easy to install and prob the best first step and also the cheapest.

Does it have the huge cap hanging off of it? If not its not a new gen.

Leave it on and solder a new one to the power wires.

Sometimes the thin motor wire connectors will get too hot and will become unsoldered. This will cause motor not to run. I replaced my cheap UL-1 connectors using Castle's BEAFIER 5mm versions.

i finally got the motor to turn, i put channel 2 to channel 1 and the motor armed. which then to me must mean that channel 2 is shot. so i probably have to get a new rx or does anyone have any ideas. has this happen to anyone before.
