Question, so i'm new rc 's and new to lipo's. My question is that I currently run 2x 2s zippy 4500mah 30c lipos. I want to add some more voltage to my boat. Being since the batteries run in series can I run a 2s 4500mah 30c lipo with a 3s 4500mah 30c to equal 5s? As long as the "C" and mah ratings are the same voltage really shouldn't matter since their added together anyway. Is my thinking correct or am I way off?

Y is that? I would like more run time, how could accomplish that without changing esc?Originally posted by 6S HYDRO View Postyes but dont run longer than 1 min.Last edited by Diesel6401; 01-13-2010, 04:56 PM.

Sorry I meant to say without changing esc, I edited the above statment. So instead of going to 5s would more amps make a difference in perfomance, say 5000+mah at 40c or 50c? My goal is to provide best battery power without changing the stock esc/motor. I currently run 2s 4500mah 30c zippys like I said above I also have some 2s 4000mah 25c tenergys I run in my SV. I really like the perfomance of the lipo's it's amazing. I truly noticed the difference in my SV. My ul-1 is fast enough for me right now. I run a x440/3 and I love the perfomance and heat is not an issue at this time. I am just trying to gain some knowledge on best setup solutions for this boat. So far I have 0 complaints and am truly loving rc boatingOriginally posted by 6S HYDRO View Postno chang motor and esc to accommodate 5s, maybe a 1300-1500kv motor and at least a 150 amp esc
. Just a whole lot to learn, I've only been in for 3 months.

Hey what's up wizard. Sweet I'll have to give those a try and order them when I get a chance. Did your pond freeze up over the last few days? The part of lake norman that I normally run at was surprisingly frooze. Are you running those in your SV?Originally posted by wizard122 View PostHi Diesel check out these thread http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ad.php?t=12248 found it yestrday

I run 4000 25c in a SV and 4500 30c in a ul-1. You think this is too low? I run for maybe 5-7ms, the stutter bump or lvc has never tripped on either boatOriginally posted by 6S HYDRO View Postthose are the ones- dont do a 4000 pack it wont have as many amp discharge. 5000 mah and higher for boats. the 2 3700's would be 7400 mah and 80c

just calc it out 25c 4000mah= 25 x 4 or 100 amps
30c 4500mah= 30 x 4.5 0r 135 amps
40c x 5000= 200 amps
you want to only use 70 percent of your amps so if your ul-1 is pulling 90 amps peak (whick most do) you would want batts that provide 30% more amps than your pulling so
ul-1 pulling 90 amps with 135 amp batts
70% of 135 is 94.5 amps so your right there, the 40c would give you 65 amps more leeway

Cool, I will have to wait until the get back in stock. Do you happen to know what SV's peak at?Originally posted by 6S HYDRO View Postjust calc it out 25c 4000mah= 25 x 4 or 100 amps
