I must be the only one not smart enough to just figure it out but I can find nothing posted here about it. I replaced the flex shaft on my ZELOS 29" with the upgraded one from OSE along with their recommended prop. Now the threads on the prop shaft don't extend far enough up towards the drive dog to allow the prop nut to seat against the prop to hold it securely. I can use a washer between the nut & prop but any that have a hole large enough for the shaft also protrude a good bit out from the body of the prop & nut and that can't be good. Any fixes or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here's what I did, used a dremel tool, ground and extended the flat of the shaft longer towards the prop end (as far as needed) installed dog and prop on the shaft, check to see if prop nut will tighten down, if not, try more extend the flattening of shaft further
When all looks good, I take a drill bit and drill a small indent (just a bit for the grub screw to settle in and slid on the shaft) Best way to find place to make indent with drill bit is to put a bit of grease on grub nut turn it in and there ya go you have a mark.
I'm sure other people will chime in and may have better ideas but this is what I did.

You can use a short piece of water line slid over the shaft and then put the nut on.NZMPBA 2013, 2016 Open Electric Champion. NZMPBA 2016 P Offshore Champion.

If it were my boat...
Increase the gap between the dog and strut to account for flex cable shrinkage
Relocate the drive dog farther down the prop shaft closer to the threads. It can be glued in place with Loctite 648 to prevent it from be pushed out of adjustment by the prop and lock nut.
Replace washer, nut, and bullet nut with a single nyloc or Zuber lock nutVac-U-Tug Jr (13mph)

20220714_181050.jpgHome Depot. Everbuilt aluminum spacer is perfect. They are in the large bin area in hardware. I bought a 3/16. #10‐32 if memory serves me correctly. I took my cable with me to insure the right i.d. Also OSE sells a spacer.
