i used to run a stuffing tube with liner, i changer stuffing tube to run with no liner, but my teflon tube used to run the through the length of stringer, my new tube i cut flush with hull, do i need to run a small length of teflon liner in stringer now? theres obviously a difference of some clearance gap in the stringer with just running the flex shaft without any liner now.

Sounds like you need a bushing.
I would definitely not use the same teflon as in your stuffing tube, you don’t want anything soft in there."Look good doin' it"
