Just my 2 cents on my own boat for whatever its worth. 1521 1.5D , 240 Hydra, M645 prop, 25 volts 40-80 c batteries, 30 inch long Hydro, comes in at 8.2 lbs Boat has gone 85.3 mph and in this video consistent 80+ for 8 runs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvLAGyd3GuU

The 1521/1.5D will work great and should give mid-50s, but it really likes 2P as it does draw some amps. You may have a tough time getting 2P packs into that hull and maintain the currect CG; you'll probably have to add weight anyway. An alternative would be a 9XL or 10XL, these draw fewer amps but still give decent speeds and will swing a large enough prop for that big hull.

As usual, it really depends on how much you want to spend, how fast you want to go, and how long you want to run.

Could I Run 4s 1p 35c 5000mah and be fine still with a castle 240 with the neu 1521 1.5d

I know this might be over doing it but what prop should I use with a 1527 1d 4s 1p set up in my 1/10 scale if I decide to use that motor I always like the extra power so it can be there thanks for looking

I thought of trying that motor on 25 volts LOL but that would be a melt down for sure. But i bet it would be woth the video LOL
