Which boat for 65mph SAW?

What are you really looking for, just a good fast play boat or do you plan to race??

My 10S2P 44-inch DF Sniper mono will do 65 mph all day long (OK 4 minutes max) with a 3080/8. But for that you are looking at well over $3,000.

So I'd think hard about what you really want to do. Your title says "SAWS" but then you are talking about 3 minute runs. It's one or the other and as has been said in FE the faster you go the less time you get. It is a balance.

Yes, a Lehner 3080/8 (656 Kv). I use a Schulze 40.160 ESC, four 5S 6,000 mAh 25C packs in 10S2P arrangement. Props for oval running are mostly a X460/3, X462, X665.

DISAR The Maritimo/neu's 50-60 amp draw per side , around 5 mins run time, speed 60mph+. The Maritimo/feigao's 60-70 amp draw per side ,around 5 mins run time, speed 60mph+. The HPR 115 not sure on the amp draw as this is a friends boat . I will find out for you . around 4 mins runtime, speed 70mph+. As the others have said to go fast cost lots of money. Bonewar

After some reading here and there I see that the Sprintcat .40, 36" long is a very capable boat. Steady in high speeds and can run in slightly rough water. Does anybody have a Sprintcat .40 to give some sdvice on the setup, hardware and COG?
I ve seen 1527/1Y 6s2p, 1527/1D 4s2p, 1527/1.5D 6s2p all believe are similar except the 1527/1D which has more amps.

Yes running in salt water with a max. 6s2p setup and max. NEU 1527 motor. The rest no problem with budget

If it were my setup, taking into account ocean running, it would be a mono (thick layup Nitro/Gas) and single motor/esc. Less to damage if there's a mishap w/the salt water and the mono I think would be more forgiving in the chop and better at landing right side up.

Lot's of on/off throttle I bet. Take that into consideration when selecting the ESC and motor combo. Is 65 mph a must? Do you have a good feeling what 65 mph looks like on the water? If that's a must, then OK, but if you can shoot for 55 mph to 60 mph, I think that would help keep your setup on the water and help with consistency and reliability.

I'm having good success with a 33" Nitro Cal Craft mono on 4S2P. There's also a 40" Nitro version. Thick epoxy glass layup. I'm sure there are other B/C Nitro mono manufacturer's to consider as well. I think that's the nitro size ranges you would be looking for for 6S electric conversion. The CalCraft's will need a hatch.
