I spoke to Steve Neu today about his motors. He cleared up some things for me. Also pointed me to a nice chart thats "kind of hidden" on the castle site.

Neu also have a 36mm motor out now called the 1415.

The 1400 series fits in applications that require a standard 36mm diameter motor. The 1400 shares the same rotor with the 1500 series motor. This motor is perfect for cars, trucks and buggies that need a 36mm motor. EDF fliers will love this motor as it will fit in the Midi FAN as well as many other fans that require a 36mm motor. The shaft is 5mm. The first available versions are the 1415 but more sizes will follow. The P32 gear drive can be fitted to this motor.Samuel Johnson - “An injustice anywhere is an injustice everywhere.” William Cooper "listen to everything, read everything, and believe nothing unless you can prove it in your own research!"

There are a ton of options which is really cool, but how do you go about determining which one to try? I understand there is a little trial and error but what factors directly affect selection?Boats:

Great info but it really would be nice if Steve updated the ohms on all the motors not just some of them , Can be a little frustrating testing them on paper.......
Jan just scroll down they have the 1524's here

Perhaps. Or it could be because the airflow in an FE ducted fan installation provides much better cooling than the typical heli or prop plane install. The motor is directly in the high velocity air stream from the fan, not at all like other installs....Originally posted by Steven Vaccaro View PostFunny they have it's max rating at 5000-5500 watts. I personally will still use fraction of the constant rating for my builds.Steven Vaccaro
