Actually Steven it's USPS with my order from OSE. It left Nasua on Tuesday but didn't arrive today with today's mail. Usually when I order on Sunday nite I get delivery Wednesday but I'm sure the holiday has slowed down the poor postal service. No biggie; I can still play with the UL-1 tomorrow

That confirmation you receive is only that. There is really no tracking with USPS, unless you use Expressmail. Even then the tracking with USPS is poor at best.

I guess turning a pond to gell wouldn't be helpful. Saw that happen to a pool once...

That is patently obvious. The questions I am raising are: How can you predict how a given setup will work on different ponds (assuming you travel to many different locations); how can you prepare for that difference before putting something in the water; and how can you quantify that difference in water quality in order to make those preliminary setup decisions? Perhaps a bit more obscure, but nonetheless importantly; Boat A on Pond X sets a new SAW record of Mach1.01. Another guy with Boat B does Mach 1.005 on Pond Y (speeds exaggerated, but it still makes my point). Who REALLY has the fastest boat if thay can not be compared in the same water?

Spot on ! None of the records is valid ( theoretical) , cause the parameters are different.

Neither do I. I just offered the discussion as yet another variable (like measuring temperatures or amp draw) in somebody's arsenal of tools when setting up a boat.

Like I said in the beginning: My KW ran great in one location, and completely embarassed me in another. If I could have tested the water first with my Blast-O-5000 Water Sampler and Setup Analizer (available at your more discriminating LHS) first, I might have adjusted props, gears, balance, angles, or whatever before I made myself look completely inept.

I do know what you mean to tell me. But how many people race on salt water aswell as on fresh water ??

I do understand that the "values/parameters" of the water of the different lakes
are various. Don't you think that wind and waves do have much more effect on the speed, rather than "thick" or "thin" water ???

The only way to compare the lakes/seas is when the conditions are exactly the same ; absolutely NO wind and 100% flat water, and the temp of the water and air is the same
