    I just blew up two of the Himodel 200a 4-8s on 8s!

    Both had DP270, etti coolingplate and etti capbank and i did not use the internal BEC.

    The first just stopped after one day of racing, the second one blew up on pluginn.

    The setup is Delta force 32" knockoff, 8s 5000, NEU 1521 1,5y prop prather 230 speed 58 mph.

    The ESC was nice and cool all the time.

    I think i might pushed it too far on my setup?

    Next time i think i will try the Turnigy marine 240HV.

    I've said it before somewhere (can't remember which thread) that todays ESCs use a voltage switching circuit for the internal BEC, as opposed to the old linear regulator circuits of a few years ago. They don't create anywhere near the heat being over 90% efficieni. Whereas the old regulator circuits were only 60%-70% efficient at best. They just got too hot with anything over 4s.
    The Hi Model should have no problem dropping 8s voltage down to 5V.
    I always use the internal BEC in all mine with confidence. Although I have never tried an 8s setup. Only up to 6s.

    Aaaaaahhh, thats different. You can only take so much from a single "P" setup and voltage decreases underload significantly on some 1P setups.

    Any data from your runs by eagle tree, really curious to see what your underload V & continous current values are ??!!

    8s1p, I just looked at another one I have that isn't cooled or waterproofed yet and the FETs are FAG21AX FDD 8896.

    Truly amazing when the fets are rated for 30Vdc ?? or at least someone said they were FDD8896 which have a 30Vdc limit...

    Peter and I use Plasti-Dip, Steve sells it here on his site but I see he is out of it right now, we buy the product locally here from Home Hardware and it comes in various colors. When using it though paint it on with a brush, it will take a couple coats to seal all the parts.

    I use Peters cooling plates on my Himodel 200's and have to agree they are one of best.

    I have gotten pretty good coolers at a great price from Scotty (Skunkworks)

    Plasti-Dip works great and may be very similar to what Peter uses.

    If you look at the FET's, some have extra solder where it looks like there should have been a gap between the different parts.

    Do you see what i see, or am i just to worried?

    I have one, not used it yet in a boat but, I've tested it.

    I think I had to play with my radio for it to handle throttle on my 3PM FM pistol. Thought I needed a Pi-Stix but, was able to set it up.

    The boat it is for isn't done yet.

    Very robust (big)

    Yes.

    This is the Bec model that has motor leads soldered to top. The non-Bec which I have recommened more solders them on the bottom which is better IMO.
