It's a Y wind motor. Set the timing to 10 and test. If all is well, keep bumping it up in increments to 15.

OK. I did email TP Power to get their recommendation and they said zero. the motor runs cool so I am sure it wont mind timing up .

This motor has been getting up to 10,000 watts and 380 amps in 1 to 2 seconds at a time …which is way over its max

As long as your temps are good when you bring it in, I wouldn't worry too much about what the logger is telling ya.

So, I decided to push my luck with this setup...
Set the esc to 10s and went for it.
It was epic.
Temps are good, amps are down, rpm is up.
I only ran one set of packs for 4 minutes but, I will try it again.

hello guys.
I am still punishing this boat at the lake.
Recently I acquired a 3 blade prop 848 and you know I had to run it on my 1650kv. @ 9s lipo……………...lmao it was the bomb. only pulled 340 amps once during the run and averaged 200 on most pulls. temp of esc was normal 59C
rpm's where up to 43600

so my only issue was this prop will not get the boat on plane fast enough, it seems to be grabbing air or maybe slipping I don't know. once it got on pplane it was like a sling shot forward. what about this prop makes it suck out of the hole but Great on the topend?

What you are experiencing is “cavitation” there are several reason for this and without seeing the prop it is hard to say. My best guess would be a reduced blade area most noticeably at the leading edge of the prop, I’ve found that the ABC 18-38 props cavitate a lot on MONOS until the boat is on the plane and then they are like a missile.

That's a high pitch prop with no tounge area, I would expect it to perform just as you described on a relatively heavy mono of that size

Crash the octura prop shown below has the tongue section marked, this area gives the prop the bite when at low speed, unfortunately because the pitch is low it also causes drag at high speed.
