How often do you grease the flexshaft?

every time i run the boat i remove the shaft clean it and store it i grease it right before i am ready to go to the lake

All joking aside I remove, clean, regrease and reinstall after blowing out any water and other residue. I heard once that the flex shaft will take a set position if not stored vertically. I do not know if that is valid if you clean and lubricate?

They come curled up inside a package when new - where they may have been stored for years - yet they always seem to straighten out just fine.....
