Genesis setup questions

I did a couple modifications to the boat this wee and I'm very happy with the outcome. The Pockets under the boat where the upper hull extends beyond the lower hull, I blanked them off with some thin flexible plastic sheeting cut to size and glued in place then silicone the edges just to make sure no water would get trapped in. what a huge difference it makes in the boats handling. It doesn't pull the boat to the right with the torque so you can stay in the throttle.... I also cut the 445 prop down so the ears are gone and thinned sharpened and balanced the prop. this is pretty quick now on just a 4s setup and I have a couple more ideas to try out I think I might get into the 60 mph range if I keep working on this setup... Then I'll be looking for a motor to drop into her for a 3s setup...

Can't figure out how to set the timing on my 180A Seaking esc. Using a tp power 4060...1950kv motor, 3/16 shaft, Octura m445 prop and run on 6s...Does anyone have any suggestions

Are you using the program box(preferred, easiest way!)? If so there are videos on YouTube, etc.

If using your transmitter like I did recently, it takes a few times to do it but the follow the "beeps" and it will work.

There are a lot of different timing settings in the program box. How do you find out what the correct setting is for your motor size and kv.?

Your motor is a d wind 0-5 degrees is ok to use. I would use 3.75 degrees for that controller.

Thanks Jim. I was going to set it at 7 degrees but I'll take your advice and re-progam it as you suggested. By the way, I'm also running a hydro with a 180 seaking esc with a Leopard x 3650 3150kv motor. I'm using 1...3s or 4s...5000mah battery and a cnc 438 prop. How would you set the esc timing with this set up?

I made a couple more small tweeks to the boat this week and upped the speed to 73.1 from 72.9 Its getting better with each small adjustment.... I'm very happy with this setup... for now.

No problem As you can see in the pics the flex is out for drying time and relube on Saturday before I run it again on sunday .. Good luck with your setup
