Bass used a 2100mah 3S pack but he puffed a cell, got too hot. 2500-2600mah should be about right. I have some PQ 2500mah 3S packs on the way that I will try, hope they will be here this week. My motor is a 28x58 2618kv. I was going to try 3300mah pack but with the longer cells I was not sure about CG so I stuck with the smaller ones. I guess I could always run my 2500s in P beside the motor if I need more capacity, will find out soon though I guess! Lots of people have 2100-2200mah packs kicking around, those would be great as 3s-2p.

I run my other pack for the 2nd run. Same thing as the first pack...

After looking at it and terminology used when talking about packs, Im going to say they "expanded" a bit after the first use.

They arent like bulging at the seams, everything seems to be uniform.

My eyes catch slight differences in size like that....

do you have an idea of the amp draw?... Eagle Tree recorder may be?

2500-3300 3S-1P will be perfect I think, 2P on the smaller packs would keep them from puffing, if that is what everyone has.... the vedors are telling everyone to but 2200 packs but IMO these are too small.

                Well...

I went to order stuff the other day... and I couldnt figure it out... So I just ended up buying everything off E bay except a few odds/ends which I will buy locally.

Iam going to try both packs in parallel. I dont think its going to pull the CG to far forward. 30% is still the magic number?

The new motor is over double the length of the stock one. I cant wait to see what it will do...

Ordered the motor from Hong Kong/e bay. Water jacket out of Canada ($10 postage!).

Im hoping to start glassing in the CF in the next few days. Figured the motor will be here next Fridayish...

I have been running mine alot. The kids love it. Its very stable and quick. Best thing it runs on one pack. I'm trying to get the manufacturer to change some things. If they do I will buy them.

Wow man I got mine wet tonight with the new motor.

Ended up frying the mystery 60A ESC or overheating it. At any rate it will be replaced.

Motor was nice and cool (28X68 2898kV) with 2 2100 20C ABF packs in parallel and running the same 42 X 1.4P cheap prop from r2hobbies.

I thought this boat was fast before. Now its just ballistic! I think I need turn fins!

And BTW I dont think I really "puffed" a cell. I think the packs got to hot, but not that far along. With 2 packs in parallel now they werent even remotely warm.
