Hello all, I replied to your pm tiqueman. Not quite what I am looking for as I explained in the pm but thank you all the same. That mystic 7700 is one sweet boat. Beautiful build your doing on it. First time I have seen that style hardware, very nice. I am actually drooling! Dirtnsnowrider, I.wouldn't mind seeing a picture of the transom if you have one. I am getting caught up in what I.would really like versus what will work best for me on the rough water. A friend of mine is working at getting us a great spot to run. If that works out then something like the mhz might work well. I suppose there is no such thing as a rough water deep V hull that will be stable at speeds over 80mph (onI smooth water) is there? I.would love to know if something like that exists! I appreciate you guys.taking the time to get back to me. I love reading the boat build threads, seems the sky the limit to what you can do!Jeff

If you want a good running mono, get yourself a AC razor or lazer

Here are some more pics. I have been doing some more sanding as I am getting this boat prepped for paint. Hopefully I will be ready to shoot it Saturday or Sunday. I have an idea to fill in the hole in the hatch and still keep the boat looking good. I run in rough water all the time. You will not be running a boat more than 40-50mph in severe chop and rough water conditions. 50mph being the high end and really wishing. I run on a lake and reservoir and deal with rolling waves and wakes from jet skis and full size boats. It is rare that I get up to 40mph when out hopping the wakes and running in the rough water. No need to go overboard on the motor/esc set up. You will want to go with a 3 blade prop as well over a 2 blade.

Hello, I may have stated my expectation incorrectly. I want a boat deep V so it can handle the rough water. Ideally the hull design will allow me to run up around 80mph on smooth water. I didn't have any expectations of being able to run the boat at any type of speed on rough water, that's just asking for trouble. I have been looking around and I figure I have spent all this money so I may as well buy a brand new hull to put it all in. I have a pile of leads to follow up on. I may just have to save a few more pennies before I buy! Jeff

            80 mph =126 kmh
Getting that speed with that 5692 rpv ?
My buster hull is 115 cm 45inch by 33cm wide same as a ac razor running 105 kmh on 2x 10 s on 2x12s 125 kmh will be possible but that will be on the limmit for my 3060-10 lehner.Rated for 10 kw.
So your leo 5692 rated max 5,5 kw will not have a long life if you want to reach that kindoff speeds
Big chance it will take your controlle with it als well, as a view of boaters in germany found out for them selves.
85 to 90 kmh will be a relistic speed if you want you components to last.
I dont want to be pessimistic but our experience is that asking a bit to much of this motor will cost a lot of money
This buster from Jens lasted 3 runs with this setup then it burned out his motor and schulze 40 160 (old school) controller

Here is my foolproof Buster 45 setup lehner3060-10. Schulze 32-202 2x10s5000 mah x460 9,2 kg 105 kmh ( this setup has some reserve so its very reliable and long lasting)
            A bit loose flat water

            Very windy conditions

Thanks, that's really good information. There are two types of TP motors I have seen in the 5692. (5660 series motor)The specs on the one I have configuration 820 kv, 6y 10000watt 50000 rpm. The older motors were rated to 38000 rpm 5000watts or so. Which motor were you basing the specs you have given? This is the type of information you just can't get by reading. Experience is everything! Would I be safe running a 8s2p 10000mah setup? I have the new 300amp swordfish
I was looking at the laser and other hulls on there site. They are made in canada. A fellow in British Columbia is making them! I was also on the central marine site looking at the 58"fountain, great looking boats. So many to choose from!

I reread your post. I am not sure where the Leo motor came into play. Should I be calling the TP motor a 5660? I guess the leopard motor are 5692 as well?

I checked out your video recharged. I love the sound of that lehner motor, that thing really rips. I can see that the speeds I dream
Of will not likely be happening, though I do plan on pushing the TP motor out to there claimed specifications. I have faith that it will
Perform, testing will tell. What's the real story on all these different motors and the different winds. I see a lot of guys running 1y.
the motor I have got 6y. I was told it will have more torque at lower rpm's and that it was a good choice as these motors will never
see the 50000rpm limit. I am looking forward to trying what I have but it would be nice to have a better understanding of why. Jeff

The tp's are Different from the leopards.
                    The tp's have more torque.
For big boats you defenetly want the TP 5850 version rated at max 12kw they are very close to my lehner delivering simular power with a little more current draw but you can buy 3tp's for one lehner. So money wise the tp 5850 750 ore max 820 kv is the way to go.
An rpm of aprox 25000 under load is enough props to use arefrom x455 to x460, bigger props only after testing for ampdraw.
The bigger boats need bigger props , better efficiency and accelleration so no high rpm's
The 5850's can handle more amps than most controlers can handle.
My german suplieer tests a lot of different setup with my Buster hull.
He is running the 920 kv but thats just a bit to much for my opinion.
He runs 1x10s giving 105 kmh and only 2 min running giving his lipo's to much swet.
This will shorten the life span dramaticly
The increase of amps is not getting inline to more speed.
With 2x10 5000mah paralell and tp5850 750 to max 820 kv a runnig time of 4,5 min and simular speed like my lehner motor.
If everything is staying in the green area 12s setups with the 750 kv and the same ore one size smaller props , will give the more speeds.
this is far better then 10s and more ampdraw by using bigger props.
Do bare in mind that several types of controlles did not pass the tests.
Oke are the 300 hv swordfish
The 250a. And 300 a modelbau pirate (special Flier version) controllers.
Etti 220 hv controllers are also good but using 2x10s 5000 parallel you should have 5 min or more running time for safe use.
Running these boats to wet wil also increase ampdraw dramaticly.

                    Here some test vid's
Props used are stainles version of the graupner K carbon props. The have 1.2 pitch props.

Those boats in the video are really ripping! I appreciate you taking the time to list out different combinations of motor sizes that
best for you. I already have all my motor and esc including all running gear. I will be running the tp5660 (5692) 6y 820kv
with a swordfish 300amp esc. It was to be run in a 54"mono but it was more or less destroyed in shipping. It could be brought
back with a lot of work but I plan on putting my absolute best into this build, inside and out. Regardless of what I do to the hull it will always have issues
so my decision is to get a new boat. Does anybody have any reccomendations as to the minimum size mono hull I could run with this
setup (running up to 10, possibly 12s if I get really adventurous. So regardless of what might be the best combination this is what I will
Be running for this build. I would also appreciate recommendations on standard prop sizes I can run and even some of the crazier combinations. I.suppose not having a hull might make it rather difficult to recommend. I may even end up with another 54"mono if the builders situation changes for
The better. Please keep the boat hull sources coming! I really liked the central marine 58"fountain but at $399 PLUS $250 for shipping I think I will take a pass
most other places seem to run$95 to $130 for shipping. These were all under 52" so there may be some length surcharge for the extra length?
Its harder than I thought it was going to be to get another hull I like and stay under $400 or so. I will keep looking....Jeff

With your engine if you want to run fast an ac lazer 40 is great. 1x10ssetup
I hav one lying around to be build.

                        Good handeling hulls are.
                        Ac Lazer 40 and 45 ,razor 45
Mhz hulls cayman , aligator, titus

I would not go over 45 inch if you want high speeds.

The TP 5850 is a really really good motor from what I've heard, I bought the 920kv both to be run on 12s in a mystic. I researched tp motors people seem to have great experience with them.

I agree over 45-47 inches and you've exited the realm of super fast monos that run on single motors. Once you hit 50" expect to be building something that won't hit speed records. The MMP Titus seems to handle really really well I am considering one for a mono build. It will handle turns very well too. The MHZ cayman will probably suit your wants/needs best.

This is as high end as you will find and with the 95 dollars shipping 515.00 total cost. super high quality isn't cheep! Would be fast though!

Just a question, but wouldn't using 8s on a 1200 kv motor be a faster boat? My toughts are the weight savings of the batteries.

Thanks again for the input. Watching the videos and reading these posts has changed the way I am
looking at things. A smaller boat seems the way to go. This is actuality a goodthing for me as I have some serious
back issues and am waiting to have surgery. I will worry about how to move and transport later! I have looked at
the laser. The price is great, made in Canada so shipping is reasonable and its alright looking. Where can I find
the mmp Titus? I have been looking at horacing to. Not the expensive one though! I would end up paying more
For shipping than the price of the boat! Still less than many of the others. I still have $325 tied up in the last boat
I ordered (with shipping and customs) it is not usable (badly damaged and to much work to fix). I haven't received
my promised refund as of yet so that is holding up things to.

So I am going to take what I have here and find a smaller boat as you fellas have recommended.
thanks again for the input. I think I will be much happier with the end result! Jeff
