I have the strut raised up about 1/4" off the ski because I was worried about what the amp draw would be initially and it's probably a good thing I did because of what the amp draw is now, would lowering it back down speed the boat up more and create lift and get the ski off the water or will the ski always be on the water no matter what with such a low pitch prop, the instructions say to drop the strut onto the ski but we are also talking about gas setup instructions where there is no such thing as amp draw...

This is sending you a clear message about your prop choice. The strut needs to be buried in the ski. What can you do to achieve this?

I would do as Doug and the direction say put strut on ski 90* to hull. Try a 2716/2 20* rake which is a low lift prop. Adjust the sponsons so everything is even expect the front right which will be toed in 1/8". I did not see your pictures of turn fin but I do agree you must blend the outside edge further into the fin. Just asking when it pulls is that coming out of a turn it stays in turn and you have to steer to left or in a staright away. Is your rudder servo strong enough? I would also consider dropping rudder getting it deeper helped mine. Also helped on my FE JAE P rigger.

Thanks Doug! It is staying in a constant right hand turn, the rudder can't get any lower at all, it's mounted at the very lowest point on the left hand side of the transom per the instructions for the boat, a 2714 would fry the esc because its already running VERY close to its maximum as it is right now and if I drop the strut the rest of the way it will likely be too much so if anything it's going to need to go down in prop size, like in the 57-60mm range and add some cupping, like maybe an octura 1457-60...

The only thing I'm not sure of is if I do drop the strut, let it slip less and speed the boat up and get it out of such a bind will the amp draw actually come down at top speed... With 15% slip with the prop that's on it now according to the speed calculator on the website with the motor turning 29,341 like its spinning now the boat should be running like 82.5 mph...

Did you factor into your calculations on motor rpm running around 90% efficiency.

The rpm I posted was from the data logger on the esc at 100% throttle and 182a draw after the boat was up to speed and running so I already know its turning that rpm already under load. Unloaded is much higher... Doug gave me a few ideas to try with it, I'll report back with the results.
