They are a bit more stout, and a additional support can be bolted to back of transome to relocate the adjustment. Resulting in an extremely strong (crash resistant) drive. The click is just the adjustment housing small detents that click while making a small adjustment. Easy and quick to adjust. But really pricey!!

Thanks! I always hear people say "click drive" and I never knew what it meant. I will be building a twin cat one of these days, so trying to educate myself when I can :).

If the boat is a 41 Sprint cat these type of stingers won't work as this cat has a flat transom. If you inttend to use pre fabricated stinger this one Works in the Sprint cat http://www.horracing.com/product_inf...a0clkevcgor4.I agree with Cooper if high demand will be required in your boat! Yes I was looking at horracing stingers. (The link took me to horracing sign in page. Not sure which stinger you meant.) The 3/16 version 2 was what I was going to go with. Maybe 1/4 is needed for the abuse factor? Then reading through other boat builds, there were comments made as to setting the stingers parallel to the ride surface then pretty much leaving them. Which brought about my question. Fabricating non adjustables would be easy and worth the effort. But replicating anything like the version 2 stinger, is not worth the effort evolved. And the consensuses seems to be that the adjustment is needed.

Absolutely adjustments are needed for every model.Again if your boat is a Sprintcat 41 the link i've sent show the stinger that can be used on this cat..3/16 or 1/4 will depend on motors....36 or 40 diam are ok with 3/16 flexshafts but for the 56 serie you are in the safe side with 1/4.Gill

Gill it is a Sprintcat 41 by Aeromarine Laminates. The link you posted doesn't seem to work for me. 3/16 version 1,2, and 3 stinger will work with a flat transom. Version 3 seems to be the weakest due to the 32mm mounting area while being the longest at 110mm. I like the 3/16 version 2 with 40mm x 47mm mounting area and adjustable length 85mm to 105mm and easy trim adjustment.

Ok the 3/16 version 2 is a good option for this boat. I used the 1/4 roller version that I modified to 3/16 teflon bushing.Gill

My hull is straight up FE, No stringers. For single power I would use a TP Power 5692 or SSS 5694. When I started this I thought it would be less $$$ to go twins with the cost of HV >200A ESCs. I'm not sure if that is correct or not. Both paths take some dollars!!! Anyone know a good source for stingers? I was going to order from HOR Racing but $30 to ship 2 stingers, and a standard 540 motor mount seems outta hand to me. Other sites (like OSE) don't have the stinger I am looking for.

The last one I've shown you is pretty sweet for money! its a 1/4 shaft so it will stand up to the big power!

we can't use stingers like those on this hull since it is a flat back, has no overhang. something like a speed master strut or http://www.horracing.com/product_inf...roducts_id=621

that is the style the op would need. im looking for a 5692 to run in mine as a single setup just need to work out cell count and esc. sorry to get off topic or hijack
