Just wanting to be different can be a recipe for disaster. But I understand, I like to be different too. Try the fightercatracing website they have some good outrunners for use in boats. Most of those HobbyKing/Hobbypartz motors are really designed and spec'd for helicopters planes and cars/trucks

    Both of these will work

The scorpion motor you posted above is for 450 heli's I had a Curtis Youngblood Rave 450 FBL that used the exact motor. way too small for your boat you need atleast 750 to 1000 watts to push the MV hull at decent speeds. It also a 3.2 shaft which the selection for flex couplers is very limited

Borgie, send Doby a pm and ask for details mate. I reccomend you do a search for t600 in the search bar and read some of the threads to educate yourself. Some say that you need a thrust bearing between the motor and collett, others say not to worry.
Here's a link to a thread with a youtube link showing Doby's boat.. doing 59mph

The Scorpion 3026/1900 has been used very successfully for years as a replacement for the AQ/PB 1800 inrunners in 4S hydro and mono applications. Outrunners have much more torque for their size than inrunners do, "bulk" is not very relevant. For example, I and others have successfully run the Scorpion 4035/850 in large 10S boats as a replacement for Neu 1527s and Lehner 3060s, even though the Scorpion's 'bulk" is far less. The Scorpions cannot take the very high amps that the others will, but they are perfectly happy at 100-125 amps and perform very well. None of these comments apply to cheap, low-quality outrunners. Scorpion got into business to build motors capable of high performance use because other Chinese outrunners usually failed, burned up, etc.

That said, outrunners can be a challenge in cramped installations like the Miss V. All nearby wires have to be physically restrained to keep them out of the spinning rotor - or else. Cooling is a problem, although the high-quality Scorpion motor will handle more heat than any equivalent inrunner will. I understand the desire to be different, and an outrunner will work if the OP is inflexible, but an AQ or PB 1800 Kv motor will work as well or better for less cost.
