The Turdigy motor will spin a prop. The best outrunner is the HK-3026/1900. High quality and reliability, not a cheap Chinese motor. Props to try range from an m445 to an x447.

Borgie, listen to Fluid. He knows what he's talking about. A $13 dollar motor like that Hobbyking unit will buy you $13 of performance and reliability. The $78 for the Scorpion will be money well spent in the long run. Boats are HARD on electronics and quality components are a must. Buying cheap, low quality parts is the best way not to enjoy this hobby. Just my 2 cents- well, maybe a nickel because of inflation.

Hate to but in but 1600kv outrunner Scorp on 5S = 29600rpm. The 2010 on 5s = 37185 rpm which is to high a kv. Better off to have a low kv and a higher voltage which will run cooler and easier on esc. Just my 2 cents. Fluid is spot on with his info. I'm just an oldtimer and old school. You could run the 2010kv on 4S for a 29,000rpm. I'll let Fluid decide.

I'd like to hear Fluid's feedback on that motor as I think that although it has the right power credentials it lacks bulk required for the torque needed to push that hull without a meltdown (extreme heat and expiration of motor).
I am only learning as well but the outrunner I have most heard of people using is the T600 1400kva like Doby runs in his Genesis. 6s set up though from memory.

It's the motor I'll be looking for when I'm ready for a cheap high power upgrade, along with investigating the one listed by Fluid....

If your gonna spend $80 I'd just get this. It works great in the miss vegas hull and it make the boat go as fast as the design allows. and you can get 2200kv for 4S
