volvo colours mate
although I doubt I'll be able to make it as nice as that one... Silver, red and white, aught to be enough
although I kinda like the blue hatch... At least, with the hatch, I can pull it off and do something with it later

another little update...
Inside got painted black, then white specks around, like a real boat
I used wet and dry sand paper to clean up the bottom of the boat, then it got another coat of paint
I've finished the bottom of the boat, it's been sanded with wet and dry again now, and is as smooth as a baby's bum
Now I've started painting the rest of the hull, the silver paint is coming out great!! First few coats are on, and I'm letting it dry in the sun as I type
I will probably hit it with a few more coats before leaving it over night to cure
Tomorrow I'll wet and dry sand it all, some red accents, then a few coats of clear, and it should be good to have it's radio gear installed
I'm still waiting on the motor, but expect it here this week. It's the same for all the other bits, they should all start arriving in the next few days, so gotta get the boat ready
Cheers
Martin

good stuff Mason :) Are you planning on running a different stinger? Are you planning on a different mounting order? E.g. motor further back and battery in the front or running it on 3S2P with a battery on each side of the hull?
I got a bit more done on the boat, the paint is pretty much done, sanding in between layers of paint gives a great result... It really is all in the prep :)
The only thing missing are all the red accents, which I'll do tomorrow, when I DARE molest the fresh paint with masking tape...
Sorta made a boo boo on the hatch already... it will get redone, I'll see if I can be bothered doing today, if not, it might wait a little :p
I kinda gotta figure out what the Volvo boat has in blue underneath the wing... And I may need to see if I can head down to the local Volvo dealer and get a few stickers
Nothing looks better than a good paint job and cool stickers
You'll also notice some nice new hardware bits :) Curtesy of Boat Bitz SA, 1 day to get to my place! Gotta love buying inside your own country instead of China or the US to Australia :)
well, that's about it, I'm waiting on the motor, mount, water cooling bits, servo rod, drive shaft adapter etc etc
enjoy the pics :)
IMAG0789 (Medium).jpg First few layers of paint, all over the top of the boat
IMAG0791 (Medium).jpg A bit of filth
IMAG0797 (Medium).jpg Finish is coming up now
IMAG0799 (Medium).jpg I'm not sure how much I'll polish the paint up underneath, it holds a pretty near mirror finish... I might give it some carnuba wax as a test later on when I've bought my GPS, so I can see if it makes ANY difference :p

damn... here's the blue colour... It's a model boat, but with a 26CC petrol motor... MMMMMMM
Stop dreaming... :)
It shows the right colours for the blue, I'll probably do something like that, but it might be in the second incarnation of my boat (e.g. when I rebuild it next around)

ohhh yay, it seems gay and not even as fast as what I want mine to do... 40 km/h with all that noise... no thanks :p

Not planning in changing where my motor is mounted, just changing how its mounted and I'm going to reinforce and stiffen the boat more and try to get more room for electroncsOriginally posted by seehuusen View Postgood stuff Mason :) Are you planning on running a different stinger?
