Best cheap spray can paint ??

Nice testing Sweetaccord,, i gess mine turned out ok cuz i waxed them before they ever hit the water and dry them wright after every run, maybe ill start using the cristal clear instead of the automotive clear, thanks for testing...

The last final test was the tape test. I tried 3 different types of tape to see if it would take the abuse. None were able to harm it. Tried Scotch paint tape (abuse test), Electrical tape (what I use on boats), and strong Packing tape (abuse test). The Appliance Epoxy passed the tape test also with flying colors (it's clear though-LOL). Would not crack off or peel off! I tired to nick it also on purpose and it seems to resist better than the others.

Welcome, but sorry If I was not clear, it's not the Crystal Clear that came out on top it's the Appliance Epoxy one. That is the one you want to use.

But the appliance epoxy paint is white wright!!! So wich clear did you end up with?? I used the white appliance epoxy paint one time on a hull and it cracked up bad like it didnt like the primer or something but like i said it was the white base paint not clear coat!!

It was the white color, you are right. I do all my boats in white, so when use the Appliance one it goes over like its clear as they match. So no its not clear, correct but you cant tell. So yes the Crystal Clear one is your choice unless you do all white.

Correct, for this test 5 days was plenty as only 5-6 coats was used to test. The point was to see which would be better as I heard the automotive was good also, but I find its not. This was just a quick test to see which would tolerate water or chemicals better.

Gotcha on the appliance paint i have an old 4wheeler im rebuilding and the fenders are white, well stained tan from red mud so i got two cans of the appliance white and resprayed the fenders white again and yeah they look almost new again but i want them black so either way ill replace them in time..

The Appliance comes in other basic colors, so if they are close to your base color they are a great alternative to the Crystal Clear. The Crystal Clear would be my second option if using a different base color and just need a pure clear coat. Sorry for the confusion. I should of clarified I was using a white base color so when I used the Appliance Enamel over it I could not tell the difference until you pointed that out then I noticed the over spray was white.

I needed to spray some neon. Couldn't convinced myself to pay $75 for house of color. So I picked up some rustoleum. Figuring I'll be clearing over it anyway. Worst paint I've ever sprayed. Chunks splattered out of the tip. It's a disaster.

Can you educate me better on flash times??? I know the term but, I don;t know the real info on this.

You get what you pay for and I use Tamiya rattle cans but as one member stated they are not cheap and buy the correct paint for your boat surface and prepare it well prior to painting...also flash times are critical ....as many know I am not a fan of clear coat.

Sanded down the prickly pear and switched to krylon. 1000% better.
