I'm going to pick up a Areo Marine Mean Machine Version 2 when OSE get's a yellow one back instock,I was wondering if anyone could Post a few Picture's there's that happen to read this thread.

I'm going to be using a Leopard 4082 2200KV Motor and 2 2S Lipo Packs as I have some 65C Thunder Power Lipo's for my Motley Crew and I would like to use the same Battery's instead of buying 4S pack's.
I'm hoping I will be able to mount everything the same or close to the same my Motley Crew has stuff Mounted as I like the layout of it.

Hey wade I'll post some pics for you soon of mine. I think that using two 2s packs might be a stretch using the 4082. That motor is a power hungry beast. Better to use a 4s2p setup.

Could you explain why a 4S 2P would be a better choice then 2 2S Pack's.

Also what Prop would you guy's start with Steven from OSE said to try a X-442 and a M445,also would you guy's use a 2 or 3 Blade Prop,also what does a 3 Blade do that a 2 Blade does not as far as the Theory of how they work goes.

Also what the difference between a X and a M Prop.

so 4s2p means running parallel packs instead od two 2s in series for your 4s.
two 2s packs series = 4s1p
two 4s packs parallel = 4s2p
running parallel is better because it can supply more amps, as your motor is gonna want to draw alot of amp. also 4s2p will give you more run time
x442 is a good start but i would jump right to the m445. m props are the same as x, only they have the tongue removed, which unloads the prop more and can give higher speeds.
i prefer x props on mono or v hulls and m props on cats. just my personal preference.
3 blades are good and can acheive good speeds but take a bit longer to take off. i usually use 3 blades on hydros or monos. again just my preference.
heres some pics of my current setup. i used all speedmaster hardware. the rudder was 6' but i cut it down a bit. in hindsight i should have left it longer cause it tends to hook a bit less in the turns, but mine still runs excellent. currently im running a nue 1515 1y 2200kv on 5s2p with m440 prop.
my last setup was leopard 4074 2200 on 4s with m445. heres some pics and videos of it running both motor/prop setups

With 4S2P, your packs are going to work half as hard which will increase battery life. Less chance of ripple current which is harmful to your ESC. Your boat will probably be a little faster due to less voltage sag under load. And the extra weight is probably going to be helpful with the power you selected. You have plenty of room in the sponsons for two 4S packs.

What speed controller are you planning on using??

wade, regarding strut angle and height, i start with nuetral on the angle and strut up 1/4 inch above bottom of sponsons. i know, it seems like the prop wont do anything, lol, but as you can see mine has no problems. porpoising, imo, has everything to do with strut depth. if the prop is too low its not letting the boat ride on the sponsons like it should….the prop is gonna have some amount of lift, so if the prop is below the sponsons, its gonna cause unstable behavior. i tell people all the time, who are having porpoising issues, to raise the darn strut up. most dont listen and continue to struggle, and scratch their heads. oh well…. more experienced boaters will tell you to stay above the sponsons and move up, before moving down. hope this helps

That motor will run best on a 2p setup. My mean machine pulls about 155 amps on a leo 4082 1550kv on 5s2p 10000 mah on an m645 prop @ 55.4 mph.

Dana What size of Battery Tray's did you use I don't want to get ones that are to wide and that may not work.

I'm going to go with the 4S 2P like you said to and get some Thunder Power 5000Mah 45C or 65C Rated packs,what kind of run times do you think I can expect to see running these Packs with a 4082 220KV.

Wade, I just grabbed the carbon fiber battery trays from kintec racing. I got the short version not the long version. Runtimes will probably be in the 4-5 minutes range and speeds of 50+ depending on water conditions and setup can me more or less than that.

I'm thinking I may go with a 4082 2000KV 3D instead of the 4082 2200KV I'm looking to get into the high 40's and around 50.

Do you think the 2000KV Motor would get me close to that as I'd rather give up a bit of speed and get a bit longer runtimes.
