Need advice on a rescue boat

Will try next time, I drove the boat straight into the shore because I was looking at the small screen. Good thing the shore line was soft soil, but I spent yesterday gluing back the battery platform ( knocked loose ) and the top deck had opened up near the bow. A bit of CA and everything is fine, the Venom shaft has more free-play than the stock so I replaced one from OSE, it is a little bit better since that is officailly a 4mm stub shaft. But it only accepts 1/8 prop so I need another insert ot go back to 3/16 .
There is no poiporse but the speed is only fair. I added weight next to the radiobox on the port side so torque issue is gone. I did all this because I needed some afternoon project.

Watch out for that tree, Been there and done that to,
It is running wet, But you could move the esc forward in front of the motor or on top of motor.
Then you could move the cells back about 2" for better cg.
Just thinking about the setup you have and I think it would help a lot with speeds and run time to.

Like your idea of notched adapter, my dislike for the Aqua Craft ESC is that it is not water cooled and I was afraid it will burn as the boat is working over time tyring to push a dead boat and the additional weight of the rig. Traxxas is not water cooled either, if I am correct, but I think it is more robust, the XL-5 has a long history of being in service. Plus it has a heatsink--if i am correct.
In any event, now that the Rio is BL, I don't have to worry about that except I need another rescue boat, the fishing pole plus a tennis ball won't do it for me, I can't cast, that is that!

Blow up raft from big 5. Got mine on sale for 40 bucks, paddles and pump included. Big enough for me and my GF. A good solution if you are in decent physical health.

Lenny, I made a ESC out of K&S thin metal sheet. I will try next week for improved COG.
