TX preferences? Sticks vs. Trigger?

I think that depends more from the previous model also.I was racing with 1/5 car.

You will see many on the other side of the world using sticks. One advantage...lots of ESCs that can be used from planes that work well.

Of course it is my personal preference! I just can't find them on a cheaper radio and i am happy with my FUTABA 3pjs for many years now.
Don't forget that when i bought my radio FlySky wasn't even exist.

I've owned higher priced radios. This one performs on par with what I have had, and the price helps spread the build funds elsewhere. RX's are very inexpensive as well. The things you listed that you don't like are personal preference only. I;'m never going to convince you, or anyone for that matter.. but I just don't like when people turn there nose up at a product based on price alone. I'm not trying to imply that is what you were doing, but I've seen it a lot.

1) I don't like the way it feels on my hand (weight-ballance-grip-trigger-wheel)
2) I can not change the module

No they are not crap.
For the price tag they perfom very good.
I just have more expectations from a radio.

B.S. I've seen this thread over and over. Especially on JRCBD. There is proof... tested proof that these radios perform excellently. By a;; means, buy what you want, but don't try to convince me these radios are crap.

Never owned one, but have used the HK/flysky radios in other peoples boats, no thanks. If I had no experience with them I would not be so vocal in my opinion of them. In fact I'd have no opinion. I've never made a claim here on a product I don't at least have a passing knowledge of.
I have two motors here I see many questions about, I've never run the motors, I've never offered an opinion on them or advice.
Also spent years with stick radios for both cars and boats, no wheel radios back then as we know them know, they were awkward rectangular aluminum boxes with a big wheel stuck in the middle and a tiny throttle on the side of the box!
Still know quite a few older guys who run boats with their aiplane/heli stick radios, they never made the change or didn't like it, hasn't slowed them down in the slightest.

No mistake, nothing wrong with buying a radio that has customer support at just about every LHS vs having to deal with companies that may or may not stick it to you if you have a problem. Not to mention knowing you will have accessories available for years to come because you KNOW the company will still be supporting their products.
I can still get Futaba RX's for a radio I bought in 1988! 24 years later and that radio is still in use in my buggy.
Plus you don't have do do any "hacks" to get it to work right out of the box, or replace a voltage regulator!
Some people accept this for a cheap price, I won't! Not with the money and time I have into building my boats, to me it makes no sense to cheap out on the only thing that keeps me in control of the boat, figure if I can afford this hobby I can afford a quality radio. There are other "less important" areas that I will go with a cheaper product vs a top o' the price heap one.
I've been into rc for a very long time, oddly enough most of the "expensive name brand" stuff is still working fine. Most of the cheap stuff is long gone.

That is true.I use a FUTABA 3pjs for almost 10 years i think.Well ballanced radio on my hand and i made only one mod.
I added a sepic board (step up/step down voltage regulator) to have 12v all the time.

Thanks for the info Snowride...a newbe mistake LOL. I used Spectrum for my Heli so naturally I went with them again. I ordeered my 1st boat a few days ago. The Genesis by HK. I went with 2s 5000 zippy's, Turnigy 180 ESC. From what I have read on hear I will be replacing/upgrading the drive cable soon. Its a start in a great hobby that I've always wanting to get into...At least I want be dirt diving a $2500 helicopter anymore...LOL I'll building a twin FighterCat sometime this year...

It will work fine but you could have saved yourself a good amount of money with a GT3B. Lots of us are using this along with many in the car world.
