Re cg position on JAE hydros, i spoke with Rod Geraghty one of the designers of the JAE team about this very subject. I was fitting a larger motor & esc which altered the cg position. He said the JAE design boats were very forgiving on cg position & it would be fine. Martin.
That is true to a point however, if you go too far forward you'll find that the boat will be darty. Stay as close to 60/40 as you can.

I found my Jae 12 to be sort of picky about cg, it ran with the cg wrong but ran much better once I figured out my mistake.
CG was too far forwards and the rear end hopped, just enough to be annoying, at first thought it was the ski design. Then went over everything again and found the problem.
Thing flat out flies now and tracks like a slotcar.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?
Hi mate if you just want to have fun what you got its fine use 3s1p 4000mah or more at least 45c and octura x440 shoud get you 50+mph and no problems you can upgrade later if you want to race.
