Here's my heat race battery setup; 8000 mah on board. SAW runs only last for seconds so much less is needed - a single 5000 pack in front of the motor is more than you need for SAW's.Originally posted by detox View PostTony, More room for lipos would be nice for SAW competition. So a good looking, easy to tape hatch is desirable ? Sheesh, you want it all ?

I spent some time talking to Jeff this weekend in Dallas, he understands how to make the hatch easier to tape - now. But actually I don't have trouble with it any more, it just takes about 30 seconds extra time to tape it up right.
I also solved my hatch fitment issue. I showed it to Jeff and was asked to post pics, so here they are. The simple wooden jig holds the hatch in compression all the time, and after about four months of use the hatch now fits well. I keep it stored in the jig just in case.

Keith,Originally posted by detox View PostTony, I do not know anything about SAW rules. I am thinking the Insane hull will fall in the P Limited Hydro class. Isn't this class limited to 14 volts? So only a higher KV motor would be needed to turn more RPM's?
As far as I know, the FE30 can fit into P-Ltd Sport Hydro, P-Sport Hydro, P-Ltd Hydro and P-Hydro. The "P" designation , in general, is a 4 cell class limited to 10K mah. Only the Ltd. classes restrict the motors to the approved "spec" motors. The non Ltd. classes allow motors of one's choice ; high KV/smaller props or lower KV bigger props; or whatever works for ya' !
